Hi,
I know we've have updated this board recently, but phpbb seems very interesting for spam/ bot etc.
Isn't is wise to change to another service in the future?
for example
http://www.simplemachines.org/
or isn't that better?
phpBB, or... ?

Re: phpBB, or... ?
I think spam will be an issue no matter what software we use. Currently, we're looking into some more plugins that will help keep spam to a minimum.
SMF is good software (I'm a moderator on another SMF board, and I used to run a SMF board as well) but I think we'll stick with phpBB, since we are already fairly invested in the platform.

Re: phpBB, or... ?
People told me that phpbb is more vulnerable for spam and hacking in comparison with SMF, and SMF seems to be more easy for users and admins. I don't have experience with both software btw...nathan wrote:I think spam will be an issue no matter what software we use. Maybe not upgrade to phpbb 4 in the future but change to SMF at that time?
