For the last few runs (MATJersey, MATBergen, TAMNew) it wasn't that obvious to me... we should be blocking usernames starting with 4 capitals?

Our latest spammer actually joined two months ago, and only posted yesterday. Those are really hard to catch.
If we try identifying spammers by their nick, we'll end up banning underscores too :(

BTW, we need a european moderator that can kill spam. Simply because of the time zone. And perhaps to divide the work load a little.

Our beloved member khz has moderation rights, but we need a member killer in Europe too!

Right now only nathan can zap users - but he's already looking into granting that right to some more moderators.

wow, after some quiet period, we are witnessing a brutal attack of the spambots  So it seems like the antispam protection is not really efficient ...

I wonder what the rationale is since no one would read these crap messages, not to mention open up links. So why all this noise ? to piss off the community ?

The new system doesn't fail, they are all old members (except one, who is a human probably)

Yes, e.g. ASCrencetemO created it's accounts exactly three month ago, with "human touch" (age, interest, avatar).
MATJersey and MATNew are gone, but there are AAJersey and AANew waiting, joined May 12, last visit May 21, zero posts. Guess when they will spam...
