Well, a very stenographic description of my setup for life playing of mostly baroque chamber pieces with some others:
# EWI-USB wind controller
# Small, but long-lasting netbook: Lenovo IdeaPad S12
# Accumulator-operated Roland MicroCube with pinned-on external USB Creative X-Fi module
So, push in two USB connections, and off we go!
# KXstudio with jack2 and Catia as dispatch bay.
# Using Swami+FluidSynth als synthesizer environment. (QSynth seems to draw too much power, so it tends to always end up in hanging notes.)
# Self-assembled SF2 soundfont whose patches are strongly oriented towards wind controller usage, so mainly continuous instruments like flutes, strings, brasses etc.
# some self-written command line tools to set EWI parameters like blow pressure sensor sensitivity etc.
This setup seems to need a stop of the jackd before entering the standby mode. Otherwise it will not come up properly again upon waking it up again.
I'm in need of:
# a sensible SFZ based synthesizer
# a proper stand-by invoking procedure
# a better synth module that handles monophonic legatos. breath variations etc. better
# more elaborated soundfonts that provide sensible expressiveness for blowing pressure variations in a continuing tone.
Well, so much for the time being.
Cheers,
Petra
