midi router

Post by retnev »

I need an application that I can use to route and alter midi data. I am not talking about jack routing, which will not alter midi control signals, just pipe it, I need something more intelligent than that.

Example.
I have a production keybnoard that also controls plugins in a daw on a pc.
The problem is is that I want to associate certain patches with the Production Keyboard with certain patches of the Synth VSTs in the DAW.
At the moment if I change a patch on my Prod. Keyboard, then it also changes on the Daw Synth plugin, but to something I dont want. I need to be able to have an intermediate application that will map my prod.keyboard patches to specific patches in the synth vst.
So it needs to capture and alter the patch changing data by means of a lookup table or something.

Anyone knows if this exists, ?? even hardware solution that will translate to the dw synth.?
If this is a hard midi quiestion that is not really the scope of LinuxMusicians, please point me to a competent Midi group. The yare becoming rare.

You can insert some stuff of the midifilter plugin suite in the DAW.

For simple cases where certain message A will be routed to program X as message B, qmidiroute

For complex cases where routing needs to be state aware, mididings

From the list you provided it seems, MapCC is the closest to what I need.

The best option I could find so far is http://das.nasophon.de/mididings/
