Qtractor and another use case for audio clip merge

Post by bluebell »

Qtractor can merge several audio clips on a track into a single, big clip.

During this process it honors pitch and speed settings and creates the new, merged clip with these settings applied.
When Qtractor plays this merged clip then less realtime CPU power is needed compared to clips with pitch and/or speed adjustments.

This works with a single clip, too!

Even if you don't want to merge multiple clips to one you can save CPU when you "merge" a single clip with pitch and/or speed changes.

I didn't know that (it works this way for ages). But Rui did :)
