Hello,
I am a regular 32-bit Windows Reaper user (via WINE). I compose electronic MIDI music with triggered VST instruments.
Currently, I'm trying to find a program (LINUX or WINE-based) that has better MIDI support, especially quantizing.
Reaper doesn't seem to have a very intuitive MIDI implementation. It's been this way for years, and doesn't seem to be improving. So what I'm looking for is something more like EnergyXT's MIDI implementation. I like input quantize, especially. But Reaper is more supported than EnergyXT and both have their issues. I tried MuLab, which works via WINE, but it's quantizing is not as easy to get to for use.
What other programs might be better?
Which DAW/Sequencer has the easiest MIDI quantizing?

Qtractor is one of the best I've seen in linux for midi. I feel like it lacks a bit in other areas though but depends what you need.

Reaper is great for Midi imo. What does Qtractor offer more than Reaper?

Probably nothing but if midi editing is all you need the rest that reaper can do could be distracting perhaps.

Rosegarden's MIDI quantizing works work for me. Even I use it to make beat music with Ardour.
