Re: Sleep on the autumn night

Very nice composition. I agree with the piano sounding too mechanical but that's easily remedied. The composition is the important thing and it's good :) I enjoyed it.

Re: One Hit Wonder - a reimagination after learning new tricks

I had a sequencer package on the Amiga (500), with a massive manual! Can't remember what it was called now though. I used to use it with my Step-Dad's Roland U20. Fun times. I remember one called Bars and Pipes but I never got into it (and lacked the equipment), but there were Soundtrackers, really...

Interesting! Not my kind of thing really but it certainly has energy :D

I liked the guitar sound, thought it was great. It was certainly loud enough as well (I have a volume control  )

Re: One Hit Wonder - a reimagination after learning new tricks

But the sounds are only half the story, you can still get a good result if the programming is good. I've been doing it since the Amiga days in the 80s and guess I'm starting to get pretty good at it. I had a sequencer package on the Amiga (500), with a massive manual! Can't remember what it was cal...

Yes, bass guitar, apologies for not being clearer. I know it's difficult to meld kick and bass guitar and have the bass stand out, especially in a rock song.

Re: One Hit Wonder - a reimagination after learning new tricks

Good song, I liked it a lot :D I thought the snare was too thin and wimpy, especially for a rock song. It should be pumping the song along. The bass was too thin and needed a bit more definition. The vocal (I like your voice) was too "harsh" - it needs more warmth and a little definition t...

Re: Libre Music Challenge #4: Listen to the muzak

rghvdberg I've judged these solely on the brief that's it's supposed to be "Muzak", although I have also given extra consideration to the tracks I consider better compositions  I've added some comments this time. I'm enjoying these challenges and as always, a great standard, some...

Re: Two new tracks

I particularly liked "Raiz Rasteira" but both songs are very good. You have talent :)

I'm surprised the standard MIDI drums sound so good!
