Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

I'm in. :) It seems to be working fine for me so far (Linux VST in Reaper). I see the controls are fairly limited at the moment. To get my favorite settings in ProG, I had to adjust more controls, although I had been using it more as a "very smooth hall reverb". So far I'm able to get a n...

Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

I've been working on a new reverb plugin. It uses Freeverb3's ProG algorithm, and the user interface is based on the Dragonfly Hall Reverb (it looks almost exactly the same, but with different dials). An alpha release is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qp6jl4gofg10l1/DragonflyRoomReverb-L...

Re: Lowpass filters cutting off 20khz-48khz?

I use a session sample rate of 48kHz instead of 44.1kHz simply because it may help my interface to perform better.

Try x42's Tuna. It's available from KXStudio if you don't want to build it yourself.

Re: funky album produced on the big tux itself

There's nothing wrong with only visiting one in a blue moon, when you are spending time actually making music, instead of doing what I do, sitting around here jabbering while procrastinating my own music projects. Good stuff, I listened to the first track on my phone while trying to put two li...

I don't really know right now. There will be latency, but I need to learn more about SoundTouch to find out if there is a way to accurately report latency to the DAW. If there is, then I don't think it will be a problem.

Re: switching from apple to linux

Careful with gaming laptops, often they have over-the-top video hardware that you don't really need, along with really noisy fans that can pollute your recordings. You don't even need a super powerful cpu; I'm using an i5 that's about a half decade old and it does ok now that I've switched to a ligh...

Re: Looking for a new sample editing tool

Any update on this? I don't see why Carla would be necessary, since the LADSPA plugin can be loaded directly in Ardour. If rubberband won't work, I'll get started on developing a plugin using SoundTouch.

Re: Looking for a new sample editing tool

This sounds promising :) let me know if there's is anything I can do to help (probably testing mainly). Now for the hardest part: what do I name the plugin? I could go with the direct name of "Rate Based Pitch Shifter", but that's boring. "Lift Attendant" could be kind of fun; a...

Wow, that was elaborate, and I totally fell for it. I still stand by my recommendation of flipping through Rakarrack presets though.

Re: Spicing up existing vocals

Pipe it through Rakarrack and keep picking different presets until you find what you're looking for, I'm sure there is something in there that will work.
