Re: qloud
That is a lot of information to process with so little coffe in my system, but I'll give it a shot: I will need bass-traps Bingo. Lots. But you can simply stradle the corners with thick mats of rockwool, wrapped in fabric. Still the cheapest method. I found the cutoff strange, because I can hear the...

Re: qloud
You have serious bass problems from 60 to 200 Hz, with prominent bumps. Those are your room modes, so you'll need some major bass treatment. A bit of fluffy stuff won't help there. Either tons of it in the corners, or (as I prefer) some large tuned resonators. The sudden cutoff below 60 is due to th...

Re: What is the REAL latency?
Perhaps I would not notice either if I routed the computer signal into a big amp and speaker cabinet. That would definitely make a difference. The louder the signal, the more the rooms reverb comes into play. Your room will probably have an RT60 of around 1-2s. So if you play loud, the room will sm...

Re: Question about MIDI CC messages
For what I understood there's a general midi list that covers all possible accions like panning, volume etc. Yes and no. There is a standard mapping to a few controllers. They would control the genral volume and panning of the synth attached on that channel. If you're controlling a DAW, like Qtract...

Great work, thanks for your effort.
Perhaps you could add a Hardware section, about new drivers, new interfaces known to work, etc.

Interesting software choices.
The idea behind Triggerd is that you can use a single foot controller to step through a playlist. Doesn't get much simpler than that.

Well, the code is up on google:
http://code.google.com/p/triggered
I haven't had any time to test it on linux, and there are no build scripts yet, so it's far from ready for primetime, but if you have use for it feel free to get involved. That's what open source is about, after all.

A friend of mine wrote a small app that plays samples triggered by midi, we're porting it at the moment. Maybe it'll be of use to you too.

I'm seriously considering using the "non" suite too, because I use two X screens, and I love the separation of timeline and mixer. Just have to see how the mtc sync goes, and decide which part I want to control with the touchscreen.

Re: A cue-player app?
I've seen a couple of home-grown apps in smaller theatres, but usually only to control the lights. Perhaps someone could be convinced to release the source code of his app. I'll keep my eyes and mouth open, but don't hold your breath.

Could it be a problem with the files having read-only rights?

Re: In ubuntu, Pulseaudio locks memory /dev/shm, jack problems
It would be interesting to see the behaviour on a different distro, if it is an ubuntu bug. But hardly anyone else uses pulseaudio.
