ZynAddSubFX explained - a new video from unfa
Hey! After a long break I'm back with LZW, a series of videos for LMMS and ZynAdSubFX users, who want to learn. "LZW" stands for "LMMS & ZynAddSybFX Watch & Learn" In this video I explain what were and why, showing most of what ZynAddSubFX has in it - leaving you some min...

"Cyber Funky" by unfa
Hey! This track is made with LMMS and ZynAddSubFX - no samples, pure synthesis. I wanted to get those modern drumandbassish punchy drums feel, a bit influenced with neurofunk sounds. Would you party to this? unfa - Cyber Funky (v. 09) on Soundcloud https://i4.sndcdn.com/artworks-000078147324-39ent1-...

Re: Can't start JACK - " jackdbus is not available"
Thanks Eino, however the problem has somehow solved itself after rebooting.
Now Cadence seems to work fine with JACK again.
Everything has got back to normal - maybe it was the lack of jackd2 package?
I'm not sure if I dare to try reproducing this behvoir right now...

Can't start JACK - " jackdbus is not available"
I've installed KX Studio 14.04 today - a fresh start (Ubuntu Studio 14.04 had Audacity and LMMS problems so I decided to go with KX this time). I've installed Tux Guitar (I need to edit guitar TABs compatible with Guitar Pro) and during the installation, something changed with jack server. I can't q...

Re: Convolver as LADSPA-plugin?
Actually, there is Impulse Convolver LADSPA plugin by Steve Harris:

It has a few short impulses compiled in, so I quess one could make his own version...

Looking for a lookahead sidechain gate plugin
Hey! I'm trying to get a "auto duck" effect in Ardour first for podcasting, but later on probably as a seperate effect for live broadcastng. The main goal is to make background music play much louder when the voice is silent, but to atenuate quickly when something is being said. I thougt t...

Demixing stereo track into multiple sources
Hi! I've been thinking of a signal processing unit that could be used to extract multiple mono tracks from a single stereo track based on different loudnesses (X/Y mode) and/or timing/phase (A/B mode) of nearly identical spectral patterns present in L and R channels. The first test could be to extra...

What is Calf Emphasis effect?
I've installed Ubuntu Studio 14.04 Beta 2 and started playing around with the exciting new stuff. Then I found this - it looks like some specialized hard-coded EQ: CalfEmphasis.jpg I've heard that vinyl masters needed a special "tilt EQ" applied to reduce bass and emphesize the tops, and t...

Why do we sing out of tune on stage?
Hey! I've released an album lately, and I've played a live gig to promote it. I was singing alone to played-back instrumental tracks. It was a small place, and small show (under 40 people in the audience) and it wasn't very loud. I had 2 front speakers (I was standing right between them) and one mon...

Re: Looking for a graphical waveshaper (distortion)
Thanks, guys!
As I'm looking for OpenSource stuff, the AMS to LV2 stuff is probably going to hit the spot I guess.
Maybe I should pass this idea to the makers of Calf plugins - they got some really neat stuff and know how to make great GUIs too.

Looking for a graphical waveshaper (distortion)
Years ago I've seen such an effect processor in FL Studio (Fruity Loops): http://amplifon-audio.com/sound/html/img_plug/plugin_fx_waveshaper.gif I've been using similar but simplified signal processor in ALSA Modular Synth (AMS). Is there open implementation? Maybe a LV2 plugin that does that? I thi...
