Re: Two New Tunes
Thanks for the feedback, guys! Happiness = appreciative listeners > 0 :D Gerard, the first tune is in 17/8 ! I started with a konnakol pattern ( a way of speaking rhythms from Southern India ): takita taka takita taka takita taka taka so its 3x5 +2 = 17 Weather Report? Cool! I would say I was more i...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
I didn't see the problems Funkmuscle was having with svn@341, but I'm getting crashes with svn@342. If jconv was running when guitarix is closed, it crashes on startup. qjackctl's connections window (usually) shows the ports being created, then guitarix aborts. It starts up fine if jconv was _not_ r...

Two New Tunes
Hi, everbody, here's a couple of new tunes. The first is a quickie that started as a test-drive of the rather excellent Renoise: http://www.garryo.org/music/tea-and-biscuits.ogg The second is guitar jazz-rock: http://www.garryo.org/music/ladder-against-the-sky.ogg Software used: Hydrogen, Ardour, Qs...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
@Thorgal, I was intrigued by what you had to say in the "graphics card" thread, so today I built me a RT-patched 2.6.31.4 kernel. As a very basic performance test, I fired up Aqualung - thru jack - to listen to some tunes while I did my web stuff. Just to see if I got any pops and clicks. ...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
Welcome back, Brummer! I can happily confirm that the problems I mentioned in my last post are fixed :D (Thorgal said he would be looking into the meterbridge issues, so I'll save further comment on that for later) The X button widget-close works perfectly, and yes, the tube2 problem has gone. Brill...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
here's what I found testing svn@324 - in all cases I'm starting Guitarix with in & out connections specified on the command line: 1) starting Guitarix with jack not running: starts ok, select "start jack" from dialogue box, jack starts, connections made ok. I guess this would cover mos...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
HI, Thorgal. I already checked out svn@324 before you posted! And found no problems. I'll have a good look at your new features tomorrow. Re the window close thing: its no big deal, just one of those fine details that might cause a little frustration. May the Sun shine eternally upon you and yours, ...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
I've only given svn@321 a quick test so far ( it's been a tough day, I'm whacked) but ... No crashes! I can't reproduce the previous failures. I really like the revised layout: more compact and unobtrusive without losing anything. Nice work. One minor niggle I've been meaning to mention: to close an...

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
Hi, Thorgal. svn@315 locked up solid the first time I ran it, the audio engine was working but the gui was totally unresponsive. The second and subsequent times it ran but then crashed and vanished. This seemed to occur when the meter hit full-scale ( or very near): it ran fine up to that point.

Re: Impulse convolver/guitarix
Hi, Brummer, Thorgal. sorry if I'm bit slow posting back. svn314: The jack dis/connect feature works perfectly here. No problems. Peak cpu use is around 8% ( 32bit athlon 2800+ ), adding fx adds little more to that. That's very useful eye-candy, Thorgal! one problem: switching in tube2 now gives me ...

Hi, Chris.
I watched all 3 vids and am very impressed with what you guys have achieved.
I was going to ask about your scripts, but have just seen the the latest update on PlanetLinuxMusicians...
