AFAIK this is not recomended for real time processing, but someone might know better.Drumfix wrote:Your GPU, programmed with CUDA (NVIDIA) or OpenCL (AMD) is a more than capable DSP.

Re: DSP coprocessor?
There are dsp dedicated processors like these http://www.analog.com/en/products/proce ... sharc.html but I believe those are for embedded plataforms not for pcs.

Re: Some disturbing news
Well I guess I'll make the gitlab jump. Can't trust Microsoft, even with their current good behavior.

Hi Glenn! I don't know much about lv2 host implementation myself but I can surely try it out and test my plugins.

Re: Your vision of the future of Linux audio
There's even more hope with recent advancements like Pipewire (an evolution of pulseaudio + jack + video mixing) and with more and more vendors pcs and laptops with Linux out of the box (system76, entroware, dell, etc). It's just exiting times to be part of the community and to advance it altogether...

Re: Advice for dual boot setup
It seems that he is using windows for audio and VMs are a no no for that. Don't know if VMware supports pass-through though. I would not expect much problems with audio, because audio interface can be passed to virtual machine, but graphics is much harder (for games). For most computers it is hard ...

Re: Advice for dual boot setup
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I used to dual boot with Windows (and it was my primary OS) and I had at least three partitions: Win, Lin and data, and data partition was formatted as FAT32. Obviously, both Win and Lin could read and write on the data partition. I would never bother with...

Re: Advice for dual boot setup
Excellent thanks, looks like I have a 6 and a 3 so I will follow your advice. Any tips on the filesystem to use on the data disk? I would like windows to be able to read it ideally but it depends on the speed sacrifice I suppose if any. NTFS I guess is the only option but how does it compare to ext...

Re: Advice for dual boot setup
What you are planning is the preferred setup often. Running both OSes in the ssd drive will run faster. You can check you sata version using dmesg | grep SATA For example in mine I get: [ 2.070849] ahci 0000:00:1f.2: AHCI 0001.0300 32 slots 6 ports 6 Gbps 0x3 impl SATA mode [ 2.088785] ata1: SATA ma...

Re: Reaper Snap Package
What you are pointing is true but on newer systems the benefits outweigh the cons. Trough my (very limited) programming and packaging experience, I think I disagree. I think I came to the conclusion that optimization is very very important. Many DE maintainers don't care about it properly under the...

Re: Gtk Wave Cleaner - Denoising, Dehissing, Declicking
Hi! I wonder what do you think about the denoising part of this program. I tested every algorithm during noise-repellent development and found my plugin much better (I'm using much more modern psico-acoustic models). Did you have the time to try the denoising algos or are you using it for de-crackle...

Re: Package updates in the KXStudio repositories
Are you aware of the native reaper built? There's no need to use wine Thanks for the information - no, I'm not. Where can I get it? Check this link: https://wiki.cockos.com/wiki/index.php/REAPER_for_Linux It's not allowed to directly link to the site that begins with L and ends with T  It ...

There you go. It's quite convenient package system for any distribution and it's made by canonical.
I'm interested to know what do you think of it falktx? Have you looked at it?
