Re: Favicon poll!
Thanks for taking the lead and making this poll! Hard to choose just three I like. Also, I just wanted to point something out that's going to sound nit-picky, but I'm just trying to provide some technical/design perspective. Favicons at small resolutions are generally edited by hand after resizing (...

Re: Linux musicians favicon
bhilmers 's version has a very bad font work and annoying gradient in the center. Al the elements in my favicon are directly from the current board theme. The gradient comes from the banner (https://www.linuxmusicians.com/styles/prosilver/theme/images/bg_header.gif) and the typeface (Trebuchet MS) ...

Re: Linux musicians favicon
Here is one based on the current default board theme.
Making favicons is one of my hobbies. I've made dozens of them.
The full icon set with source files are in this ZIP.*
* The link is in my temp folder and will be deleted eventually, but that might be months from now.

Re: Who pays for what ?
Do you financially support Ardour via a monthly payment ? No. I've only used Ardour once in, 2011. I think it's a solid DAW, just not the features or workflow I prefer. Do you support any other FLOSS project with regular payments ? Did you donate money to any open-source developers in 2016 ? If so,...

Ah! Sorry. You can't see attachments without logging in and I came to this thread from a news reader. I'll pay attention in the future. Thanks for the link, downloading it to my server now.GMaq wrote:Yes it's at the bottom of the first post..bhilmers wrote:Is there a torrent for NBO2?

Re: Cheating
It is an old joke, but seems timeless since it is still relevant today. I play live electronic music several times a year and the topic of "what's cheating?" comes up much too often within my circle of collaborators.

Re: lexicon alpha usb perfect compatibility with gnu/linux
I bought a Lexicon Alpha last week and was happy to see it work out of the box. Seems to be a nice, inexpensive unit for simple recording. Haven't had a chance to give a critical ear to the preamp, but it is surely an improvement over my M-Audio Mobile Pre, blech.

Re: NBO website future
Sure, I would be glad to host the NBO site. What kind of bandwidth was it using and can you reasonably project it's future usage over the next year? I can probably handle it. I already seed the torrents.
Invested parties should PM me to work out the details.

Re: Ubuntu Studio's reputation
I think Ubuntu Studio is great for a certain slice of Linux users. I come from a multi-media background and U:Studio saves me a lot of time on a fresh install. I can see how audio-centric users might be turned off of U:Studio's "inadequacy" out of the box, but let's face it, Linux Audio is...

Thanks for the cool tools. In drumkv1 is there any way to bypass the DCA and allow long samples to play their entire length?

Re: no budget orchestra torrent
After hearing how great these samples sound I decided to set up Transmission on my server to host the nbo torrent, but since I don't know the first thing about torrents I have no idea if it's working as expected. Any suggestions on how I can improve the visibility? Also, I'm down to host other Linux...

Re: Wavosaur
I actually liked OcenAudio 2... I still have high hopes for the future of OcenAudio. They seem to be starting on the right foot. Lately I feel Audacity's nightly builds branch is worth the occasional breakage because of all the new features. They are really coming along. Slow, but getting there. To...
