Flood Society - "I Am A Man" - The video

I made a very simple video for my song "I A Man", my first and bedazzled experience with chroma screens. Here it is in case someone wants to take look... https://youtu.be/V-xaSSr-w4Q https://odysee.com/i_am_a_man_video:b7f1720ec10c70d87d0623f6eb895aad7eff963a Made with the excelent KdenLiv...

Re: Best distro for audio production on older PCs

My previous laptop was more or less of the same generation (bought in 2009), and in those days I got my feet wet in audio with PuppyStudio. I don't know if it's still around, maybe you can find some .iso around in the web... it was great for audio because the philosophy of the distro was being minim...

Re: What are you currently reading?

"Money for nothing", by P.G. Wodehouse. A real model of English humor, which I really enjoy, although this is not one of his best, imo...

(Fun fact: Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead read Wodehouse non-stop... :) )

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

artix_linux_user I'm sorry you feel mistreated by comparison, and in fact I think your point is totally valid and I'm happy that you pointed this out. Without any irony, I really wish, for the sake of clarity for this forum, that the hammer of the offtopic gods had also fallen upon me after my firs...

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

Yeah, that's too bad... Let's hope the beta lasts because... I've finally been able to install it...   This is so weird that it's going to look like I'm making it up. About an hour ago I was going to work on a song that I've been working on with total normality during the whole...

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

Thank you for all the advice; but I'm afraid I'm getting cold feet, the risk of screwing my system is too high. I can only guide myself by the official instructions of WineHQ, and the solution you propose goes frontally against what they say, it seems to be some kind of high sophistication that I do...

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

Thank you so much Tavasti for your detailed explanations, your post is an absolute model of being helpful. It seems all roads lead to installing Wine again, for either using LinVST or Yabridge, so I've been looking some more into it and I have a few doubts... Like I said, installing Wine was a very ...

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

1) using windows plugins may be very tricky, and there is risk that they stop working. If wanting to avoid time wasted in tinkering, stay with linux native plugins. Sure it if possible to hit problems even with native plugins, specially when using Ardour/Mixbus as a DAW Yeah, I stick to Linux plugi...

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

I have it running with Wine-stable -> LinVST. Thank you for letting me know that it can be done with LinVST... When you say you use "Wine-stable", I'm guessing Wine has available one stable version, and then Wine Staging would be more like "night builds" for people who want the ...

Re: Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

Thank you so much. It's great to know that someone got Goyo working in Linux... Unfortunately, I've checked the documentation and I'm quite hesitant, I don't know if I can pull this one off: It asks for a thing called Wine Staging, which, when you go through the documentation, is its own can of worm...

Anybody had luck installing Goyo voice separator?

I've been kinda drooling about this plugin after seeing a couple of demos: https://goyo.app/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBb7vCgLbfI I tried to install it with Linvst, but when I run the .exe installer, a Wine window appears saying that the program is in a Windows version not recognized (I've tr...

Re: Odd Girl - Very Rough Mix

My favorite part is the keyboard runs up and down when the electric guitar comes in, it gave me a feeling of terror punk, or maybe cabaret-ish, like a Doors song :) As an opportunity for improvement of the production, I instantly "heard" the stereo trick for the guitar: you record the same...

Yeah, I'm still very much at it... There's no such thing as retirement for musicians, is there? :P

Flood Society - "I Am A Man" (Alternative / Goth)

Here's a song that some of you might remember because I posted it a year ago. I've revamped the production, and most of all added some hihats in the chorus that were killing me to have forgotten. Made with Reaper, Yoshimi, Drumgizmo, and VST plugins powered by LinVst; all the good stuff. Video edite...

Re: Drumgizmo overheads

I use DSRKit, and in it the overheads get the snare and everything else... Unless you enable the "Bleed control" option and set it to 0; maybe is that what is happening to you?
