Re: 'Midi controller' software for sending midi CC?
I don't use it, but can non-mixer or maybe non-timeline send midi CC? that might be a nice modular way. Hopefully someone with experience can chime in.
ctrlr in that list is probably a good bet.milk wrote: https://wiki.thingsandstuff.org/MIDI#So ... controller

Re: Effect plugin to change pitch
if it's monophonic, the infamous e-wham is designed for that (any detune amount from -3 octaves to +2 octaves). Falls right over if you play chords though. https://github.com/ssj71/infamousPlugins/tree/master/src/ewham It doesn't preserve formants though so it will give the chipmunk effect to voice,...

Re: 'Midi controller' software for sending midi CC?
Ardour can send midi CC with automation tracks. VMPK has an option for a midi CC knob too. There are a couple of plugins that generate midi messages (including cc) https://github.com/x42/mididebug.lv2 and one I wrote https://github.com/ssj71/infamousPlugins/tree/devel/src/mindi I'm not sure exactly ...

Re: LV2 Presets
Jalv will save presets, but not assemble them into banks, and I'm not sure exactly how you would load those into other hosts. You might be able to just put them into a ~/.lv2 directory that should get scanned by the host. IF that works it will be automatic. The RDF format is standardized IIUC but mo...

Re: Dragonfly Hall Reverb
that could be tested just by reversing a hall IR with a wav editor (e.g. audacity) and running it in a convolver (ir, klangfalter). Is that the effect people are looking for? That isn't how convolution works. Convolution is a linear effect, so, there isn't a start and a end, which you'll need to re...

Re: Dragonfly Hall Reverb
I suppose, if one was willing to accept an initial calculation pause after changing the setting to reverse, an impulse response of the actual algorithm settings could be calculated and then used reversed. Of course the reverb fade-in will also come after the source signal, not before. A long time a...

Re: Linux Plugins (LADSPA, DSSI, Vamp, LV2, VST)
well at least an argument could be made then. I'd like to hear of someone actually using them that way. If it actually works, then I'd say they definitely belong on the list!

native yes, but then they aren't plugins in this context.

Re: Dragonfly Hall Reverb
Yeah, I'm not sure that there is a way to do realtime reverse on an algorithmic reverb like Dragonfly well its certainly possible by inducing latency equal to the length of the tail, then effectively running the algorithm backwards. There might be a more clever way, but inevitably if you want to he...
