Re: syncing

Thank you and yes that seems a lot easier. Today saw a you-tube vid from a Cubase user. That basically answered all my last questions. Cubase the quantize options, also has a random knob. Very handy for working on the velocity of midi notes. Then there is also quantize, to a groove. Also read an int...

Off course Ableton Live has drop down menu's were you select the swing, but they also show some piano roll pictures. Every second hi-hat is moved, probably 1/16 forward. This mak...

Re: syncing

If I am gonna use Ardour, I will definitely do a donation.

For now I still cant find the bundled content. Ardour 8, but I will investigate about why.

I did see midi maps though.

Re: syncing

Thank you, and I will have a look, if have the bundled content. I use geekos on opensuse, which is like the KX repositories for debian. This repository gives me LMMS and Ardour. Better working then the ones from the default repositories. Don't we love Linux. Clips sounds exactly like what I n...

Re: syncing

Maybe some progress, on the groove part. I found a post on an FL studio forum, the person asked for the best free groove templates. The part were this gets interesting for us, those templates were in midi format. I could not see any links though, because I am not registered to that forum. Fi...

Re: syncing

Only Cubase, Albeton and FL studio seem to have groove quantization, out of the box. ( I need to dig deeper in this, dont tell me there is no daw on Linux that can dot it :( ) Hydrogen has a "randomize velocity" option, and, also a "lead and lag" per-note control window where yo...

Re: syncing

From the Ardour 7.5 release notes. Tempo Map Editing Over the past few releases, we revamped tempo maps editing with one goal: introduce mapping tempo to real performance. Musicians often make subtle pacing changes during their performances. Previously, an engineer or producer would have to slice r...

Re: syncing

There seems to be plugins that can do it. Will I finally get funky ? Trying to do this manual in LMMS failed horrible. Putting a subtle delay, preferably a filtered one like Calf Vintage tape delay, on your drum track can also funk it up a bit. Subtle is the word though! Thats the word, subtile. It...

It seems my American friend, might be installing Reaper. [...] If he hasn't used a DAW before he's gonna be in for a surprise, ha ha. Too me all DAW's are incomprehensible. But I sincerely hope your collaboration will flourish! :) Don't give up. Giving up is in general not in my system. This also m...
