Re: Is there a NSM Load Session From Command Prompt

Just in case: The code above needs to be put into a file, e.g. nsmstart.sh with a text editor of your choice. Then mark the script as executable with your file manager or via the command line: chmod +x nsmstart.sh Finally put the file into your users PATH. /home/user/bin if you have that configured ...

Re: Is there a NSM Load Session From Command Prompt

I didn't think it would be that complex but thank you very much.
It really is a workaround. One could write a patch to non-session-manager to load a session after start. But this took me already over an hour, in an environment I am familiar with. So let's leave it for now.. :)

Re: Is there a NSM Load Session From Command Prompt

I wrote you a starter script in bash. No extra dependencies. Just type nsmopen.sh project-name . You can rename the sh file of course. #!/bin/sh #Invoke with nsmopen.sh projectname PROJECT=$1 #for better readability eval $(nsmd --detach) #command returns a line to set the NSM_URL which we use to act...

Re: Good Linux instruments and plugins sources?

There are good Pianos and Drumsets in Linux. Salamander Piano sfz is open source and sounds very good. Pianoteq is excellent, but proprietary and commercial. For drumsets there are good options. Hydrogen for some fast click-and play, AVL Drumkit by x42 is very good as well, Drumgizmo is objectively ...

Re: Sonoj Convention 2018 video recordings now available

Interesting reactions. I guess it shows that this forum contains many developers and very technical power users. I would have guessed that for a general musicians audience the talk of falktx would be the least interesting. And I stress that this is not a statement about the inherent quality!! It is ...

Re: Excellent vocal synthesizer project, runs on Linux: Synthesizer V

It just says you can't use it against the law. That is always correct by definition and redundant in a license, since you can't change the law with a usage license.

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

I am absolutely against any advertisement of any form. Instead we should try to raise the funds, even a in advance to have some headroom. Donations should be anonymous from a certain threshold and if cooperations have an interest in helping still they can donate whatever they like. Already now I str...

Re: Looped SFZ instruments

Do not use the .wav built-in loop format. It is very fragile and practically not supported.
Always use external meta data, in this case sfz loop.

Is that allowed by the rules? I was under the impression that we should work from the 15th to the 15th.
It is of course just short drum sample.. :)
