Re: One sound card fot INPUT and another for OUTPUT

Thanks Pablo. I found a flaw on my solution, i was kind of expecting it to happen. The iinterface's name changes each time it's pluged into the computer. I have to read about getting a fix name for the interface, I've found a link but I know it will take long hours of comprehension from me so I thin...

Re: One sound card fot INPUT and another for OUTPUT

I can say I solved it. This is what I did: I've read many things and got really confused because I'm not a programmer. On this link I've found this paragraph that was exactly what I was loking for http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man1/jackd.1.html Run jackd in full-duplex mode using the ALS...

Re: One sound card fot INPUT and another for OUTPUT

This behaviour can often be turned off by muting a channel in alsamixer - have you tried that? I didn't explain it well; this interfase is like a mixer, so in the headphone out you hear the main out always, it's tricky because if I lower the volume of the headphones, I lower the volume of both sign...

How to have an Alesis Multimix 4usb running in ubuntu 10.04?

I have just bought the Alesis Multimix 4 USB. I had asked a few ubuntu users that owned this interface and they all told me it ran out of the box. Mine did not, it doesn't appear in jack and i couldn't record with qtractor. I think it might be some minor configuration issue or a missing package I mi...

Qtractor metronome

i can't listen to the metronome in Qtractor. When I record I'd like to listen to the beats of the metronome but i can't, I'm using a hyfrogen beat on another track and recording to that but I'd like to use Qtractor's built in metronome. Under View>options>midi I'm aware that the metronome is configu...

Re: Some Studio Pictures

Amazing studio, it looks lie Bristol/Brighton but for real!!! I love analog gear, it does occupy way more room but I guess it must be great to BE in that room. Do you have an ondes martenot? That thing sure sounds great. Just a question I've always wondered, does all that gear recquires a lot of mai...

Re: Problems with Qsynth and Yoshimi

As for alsa midi and jack midi compatibillity, I think the best solution is a2jmidid. You can install it easiky as a package. Look at "man a2jmidid". Press ALT + F2 and write "a2jmidid -e" This worked perfectly! My question is: do I have to run that command every time or is ther...

Re: Problems with Qsynth and Yoshimi

I've solved the problem I was facing with Yoshimi, it was a simple solution. This is what I did: In the jack connections windows under the ALSA tab I connected the OUT of my midi keyboard to the IN of the Midi through, then, under the MIDI tab I connected the OUT of the system (MIDI capture 1) to th...

Problems with Qsynth and Yoshimi

First I'm going to say that even though I've made great progress since I started using ubuntu, I'm still consider myself a newbie. I'm a regular user so the most GUI the better. I'm having some problems since I've reinstalled ubuntu 10.04. I can't get any sound from qsynth. I start jack control, I s...
