Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.
Stupid question, but what do you mean by "Qtractor doesn't render tracks"? Is it that to generate sound qtractor needs plugins? if you export a track in LMMS it also renders your synth parts for you, i.e. it runs the patterns through its internal synths and adds the outcoming audio...

Re: connecting the midi keyboard to Qtractor.
Qtractor doesn't render tracks. If you want your sounds from your synth you'll have to record them with either Qtractor or another recording application. If you really need an application that is able to render try LMMS. Stupid question, but what do you mean by "Qtractor doesn't render tracks&...

Anyone has any experience with Behringer phantom power?
Does anyone have any experience with the Behringer micropower Ps400 external phantom power unit? Because I need to buy one and this is really cheap, I can't go higher on price that that. If I have to go higher I'd rather save some bucks and purchase a better interface than the one I have now. Thanks...

Developer question: saffire 6 usb
Before purchasing the cheap awful USB interface I have now, I was in love with the Saffire 6 USB. Sadly it didn't run on linux.A friend of mine got it (he uses another OS) and so I tested for myself that it's not recognized by Ubuntu 10.04. My question is this: I have access to that interface becaus...

I have the M-Audio Oxygen 61 and it works great, flawless. Maybe it's smaller versions suit your needs, like the 25 maybe. I leave the link, I'm not spamming btw.

Re: Which distribution?
I don't know that one, BUT are you sure it isn't broken. phantom 5V? that's not phantom power, that's "ghost power" lol I suppose it broke right after the guarantee expired because it used to be just fine. SO I'm stuck with it until I get some cash. BTW, ghost power, that's hilarious! How...

Re: "Studio" vs. Normal Distributions
Thanks for the recommendation! I have to decide what to do on the next few days. But Tangostudio looks cool. Taking into account my experience tweaking the system I have to say that I failed big time, but maybe I could try one more time from the scratch.
Thanks

Re: "Studio" vs. Normal Distributions
The system is beating me so far because I never really could achieve a great stability. So I'm about to format and reinstall everything. I'm too used to ubuntu but ubuntustudio hasn't been a great experience on my side, maybe is because I made many mistakes or maybe because my hardware has given me ...
