Re: LNXMuSCNS video meetings on Saturday / 6pm GMT / 8pm CEST / 14.00 EDT
Another nice Saturday evening chat with fellow linux-for-music musicians! A few points discussed this round: Qt5Ct: giving your Qt5 apps a more personalized appearance! :) Tenacity: an interesting alternative to Audacity! Pipewire: another interesting project, aimed at managing Jack/Pulseaudio all i...

Re: New linux version of LibreArp vst3 plugin announced
Cool!!!! Thanks for posting this, @glowrak guy !
An awesome addition; there just haven't been many good arpeggiators around.. but this one looks promising!
Since there are both an LV2 and a VST version available I bet they'll work fine in Qtractor and Carla too.
Thanks again!

Re: LNXMuSCNS video meetings on Saturday / 6pm GMT / 8pm CEST / 14.00 EDT
Just a quick update on last week's meet-up: - talked about Robin Gareus's "audio-to-midi" script available in Ardour. Very promising! - the idea of a Libre Music Challenge that requires putting music to a video! - looked at some online resources that provide royalty-free video - the "...

Excellent job, brother! The videos are splendid too! Very beautiful and inspirational!
"Creating music in a forest." Awesome! It must have been a lot of fun to do the work outdoors.
I'd like to organize a set-up to do something similar in the future.

Thanks Matt and Glen!
It's somehow reassuring to hear that there are others out there who started out as "not computer savvy!"
A truly enjoyable listen.

Another nice discussion last week. Talked about WaveEdit, Drops and Xterminator, among other things.
I'll be checking in about an hour or so late tomorrow nite.
Hope everyone's having a great summer (or winter, depending on where you are ) and hope to see you folks tomorrow at 6pm GMT!

LAM Ok. I'll be checking in briefly just to see what's up... Just a few notes about (some of) what was discussed last week: - when did you start using linux for music purposes? - the easy (and the hard) ways to use linux for making music - Managing your sound card and sound server - Running "a...

Awesome link! Really neat collaboration effort.LAM wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 3:50 pm Hi @briandc,
there is a repository on GitHub aiming to create a Libre sample pack: https://github.com/TheSmallTeaBoi/the-libre-sample-pack
Anyway, your idea of a Libre Sample Challenge could be interesting.
Thanks LAM!

Re: From Mac to Linux
Did anyone mention Librazik-3??
I find it very generous in terms of pre-installed apps; the low-latency kernel behaves just fine, and it seems a bit lighter than Ubuntu Studio.

Let's not forget my castanet! Right! Perfect for sampling and adding to an audio sample pack for use in the next Libre Music Challenge! :D (Hey, there's an idea... create a "sample challenge" where people can submit their own, homemade samples (maybe vote on the best ones?), and make a &q...
