Re: Pipewire-upstream PPA on AVL-MXE

I'm interested to hear exactly what you ran that worked. Recording with a DAW? How many tracks and plugins? MIDI recording? Was patching inputs and outputs straightforward? I was able to build it from the Pipewire Github source, and run it in uninstalled mode. I usually run Jack with PulseAudio bri...

Pipewire-upstream PPA on AVL-MXE

Did anyone try installing Pipewire from the pipewire-upstream PPA on AVL-MXE? I managed to install it via apt, but when I try to launch the service, it fails: /usr/bin/pipewire: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/pipewire: undefined symbol: PW_LOG_TOPIC_DEFAULT Installed version: dpkg -l pipewire Desired...

I was looking to get some (non-audio) packages from the Debian 11 repos, like Podman, but I can wait until the distro upgrade.

AVL MXe upgrading Debian sources

Can the Debian sources is AVLinux MX-Edition be switched from 'buster' to 'bullseye', and then upgrade the system to Debian 11 packages?

This is an illustration of the TotalMix FX app from RME:

Your going to control all this using four buttons and an encoder? Enjoy!

But no interface to operate it from Linux? Or even Android for that matter?

Re: Ultralite AVB

I sent an email to MOTU asking if they were aware of any issues in regards to channel drifting on the 828es over USB 2.0 connections, and they said that they were not aware. Has anyone been in contact with MOTU support regarding this issue? shellwalker ? They also could not give any guarantee that t...

I welcome this, as I'm considering acquiring the 828ES, and I'm finding it hard to keep up with the current working status by following this thread :)

Re: Sample Browser or Manager

I need this too. I really wish samplecat would work, but I have a hard time building it. I've only managed to build it on a specific commit, and there it was not working properly, not even showing up in jack.

EQ10Q copy A to B?

On the EQ10Q there is a very practical button for A/B comparison between two settings. Is there any way to copy the settings you've dialed in to one of the sides to the other?

Re: chain audio interfaces with ADAT to get more inputs?

I am not familiar with Focusrite devices, so I can't speak to your case. In my case, however, I have ADAT set up using a Steinberg audio device into an Arturia AudioFuse. This required some configuration on both devices, and neither have configuration software available on Linux, so I had to do it o...

Roundtrip latency in Jack vs Ardour

Can some explain to me the difference between setting up Extra Latency in Jack vs the Measure Latency function in Ardour :?: I've setup an outboard loop going out of my audio interface, through a couple of analog processors, and back into the audio interface. When I measure the roundtrip latency wit...

Re: AVLinux 2020.5.10 post install issues, Lexicon Omega, Crackling, AVA Plugins, RT Kernel question

4) I would like to test the RT Kernel. How do I install that kernel correctly so I can go back and forth between the default low latency kernel and the RT kernel? (getting Grub to let me boot either on startup?) I'm on a previous version, so I don't know if this applies to your version, but I get m...
