Re: Need USB audio interface

An 18i8 has only 1 stereo output bus??? As far as I know, the scarlett series right from the start has always been usb audio class compliant. So all of them should work with linux... well at least for being able to set the sample rate, and have at least one stereo out buss that all linux audio softw...

Re: Need USB audio interface

Yes, I just saw that in your earlier post. So you do need the 2 stereo busses. conform to EBU128 Uh oh. If you want to make sure everything is going to work ok, the best thing to do is to see if you can get the manuals for your "distribution amplifier", your "recorder", and your ...

Re: Need USB audio interface

Scarlett 4i4 This has 2 stereo output busses. So it technically meets your requirements. Just note that these are meant to feed professional grade equipment such as a crown or qsc amplifier. If you run these into consumer grade equipment such as a sony or panasonic amp you got from wallmart or targ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

If the linux support for a thunderbolt 2 device hasn't already been delivered by now, then it's never going to come. Thunderbolt 2 is obsolete. (I think the latest is thunderbolt 4.) I strongly recommend that the OP not sink any money into it. I owned a MOTU interface. I liked it. But I was using it...

Are you British, folderol??

If so, did you ever see any of these bands live? Henry Cow, King Crimson, Gryphon, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf Generator, Renaissance, U.K.

I presume you know about my favorite guitarist, Alan Holdsworth?

Re: My new audio server (Warning: Humor)

artix,

Do you like martial arts films? I'm watching this chinese movie about rival karate crossdressers. It stars RuPaul, and it's called Crouching Tiger, Hidden Drag Queen. Oh this is my favorite scene! They have a lip sync battle to the dialogue in a Bruce Lee film.

If I knew where you're from, I could translate the cultural references to something more familiar to you.

For example, if you told me you were canadian, I'd tell you that a whoopie cushion is something that sounds like Justin Beiber vomiting on stage.

Re: My new audio server (Warning: Humor)

I don't want to get too serious here, because this is a comedy thread (and anyone who's expecting anything else is a mensa card-carrying genius who inexplicably bought a ticket expecting to see the Three Stooges perform Othello). But when you've seen enough folks struggle just to make it through one...
