VMPK help
I'd like to use VMPK as a virtual keyboard to Hydrogen, so I can easily record some percussions in free time. But the problem is that when I release the key, it stops the sound. How to solve this, that is, to have the VIrtual Midi Keyboard just to trigger the sounds, and not control their length?

Re: Integrating a note editor inside a recorder/sequencer
I don't think your ideal solution is very far off. MuseScore will only need to add jack transport support to work in tandem with Ardour. My guess is that this is in the works as MuseScore is still under somewhat active development. You should contact the devs and talk about this on their forums. Yo...

Integrating a note editor inside a recorder/sequencer
So, I've mentioned in the poll topic that an ideal recorder/sequencer i.e. a DAW for me would be the one that has a full featured audio editing and also a full featured MIDI editing that can be done with a notation editor, not just a piano roll, so that every mark that you add to the score, like leg...

Re: Aria Maestosa? Why not packaged??
I see there is a notation editor. Can you enter notes with the QWERTY keyboard, like in Musescore?

Re: Hydrogen - different note length in the piano roll?
Great, thank you very much! I really didn't even notice that there is a piano roll, just used it for drum parts. Hydrogen is such a great piece of software.

Hydrogen - different note length in the piano roll?
I read on net that this guy could "draw note length in the piano roll editor in Hydrogen", but I couldn't find a way to do it. Is this possible at all, to use Hydrogen not just as a drum or percussion sampler, where the dots in the grid just trigger sound samples, but also as a instrument?...

Re: Poll - What recorder and/or sequencer do you primarily u
Why not just have the whole framework set up and ready to go instead of adding the DAW at a later stage and making all the right connections? This would be great for having a template ready to fire up whenever you just want to be creative. You can do this with Gladish. I've saved two kinds of so ca...

Re: Poll - What recorder and/or sequencer do you primarily u
I've tried the OpenOctave yesterday, and the interface and the concept is great so far. Only that I didn't get any sound when working with MIDI data. Either I don't get it or something went wrong during the install process (I installed it by ppa, so I have no clue if there's a problem or not) Howeve...

Also, please answer the following questions - What did you select? (If you selected 'Something else', please mention the program here.) Ardour. I seem to be at home with that DAW, although it's still in its beta, and is a bit buggy. What work do you do? (film scoring, recording bands, professionall...

Re: Hydrogen Help Required
Yes you're right Pablo, in the Manage MIDI Devices of Rosegarden, Hydrogen for some reason was set as "14:0 Midi Through Port-0 (duplex)" so I changed it back to "130:0 Hydrogen Midi-in (write)" and now I can hear the drums. So that's good news :) Thanks guys for taking the time...

Re: LinuxSampler problem
I've added all the lv2 I could find in the synaptic, and yet I get the "LV2 - no". Anyway, nevermind, I'll just connect it via JACK. Thanks anyway!

Re: Hydrogen Help Required
How did you make Rosegarden to run Hydrogen? As far as I know Hydrogen doesn't have midi in option. To get some new sounds: First you have to download hydrogen drumkits. For example from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hydrogen/files/Sound%20Libraries/Main%20sound%20libraries/ Then you open hy...

Re: Guitarix release 0.23.3
Well, that helped, thank you. I had it installed, but I guess I had to have the latest version, so now it worked. Something strange happened though: I used the command ./waf configure, and on the end I read "build finished succesfully". So I think to myself, what build I didn't type ./waf ...
