Hydrogen, Ardour, and JACK transport

Hello. I usually record audio with Ardour and add a drum track with Hydrogen, using the nice feature that is sync'd JACK transport. There is a problem, though: if I start from anywhere other than the very beginning of the song, the sync is not perfect. This is very, very annoying, because it means t...

Re: SetBfree - how to always load my cfg file

Ditto for me. I've been wondering the same thing. I also launch setBfree from Carla, and there it seems to load the default every time. /Frank Hey. Here is a workaround: copy and paste inside the Carla file the controllers you need for SetBfree, as you would write them in the configuration file, wi...

SetBfree - how to always load my cfg file

Hello! Lately I really like working with SetBfree, and I made my own custom cfg file. How do I "tell" SetBfree to always load that one?
(Btw, if it's relevant, most of the time I lauch it with Carla, from different Carla project files.)
Thanks.

Re: How do I use my PC as bluetooth headset with Jack?

Ok, managed to get it working with PulseAudio, even though it's really annoying (no nice GUI, no patchbay, extra structure...). I would *love* to see a package like jack-bluetooth, or a jack-a2dp bridge, that I can connect in ladish/catia/claudia however I want! Does anyone know if there is such a t...

Yes, add this line to the end of your ~/.bashrc file:

Code: Select all

export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1
Next time you login all OpenGL calls will be done in software.
Ok thank you so much!

Calf plugins have changed URI?

Hello!
My Ardour and Carla cannot find my Calf plugins anymore! What has happened?

Thanks.

Re: Window rendering problem on setBfree and Shuriken

What exactly is going on, though? Your video card or drivers don't support the features setBfree needs. Using that variable makes the openGL stuff run in the CPU instead of the video card. (which is often slower) Yeah, exactly, I do not have a dedicated GPU. Is there a way to tell my system to do s...

I love you! It's finally working!!

Re: Window rendering problem on setBfree and Shuriken

So, I reckon the problem may have to do with OpenGL. Is there any non-3D version of the UI available somewhere? From the output below I guessed I had to install all the libtxc-dxtn, but the output stayed the same...any ideas? paul@ThinkPad:~$ strace -e open setBfreeUI open("/etc/ld.so.cache&quo...

How do I use my PC as bluetooth headset with Jack?

Hello. Is there a JACK support for bluez? I would like to use my PC as bluetooth headset, but: - It seems the only way is through pulseaudio, - I installed pulseaudio and tried, but it does not work. Is there any specific thing that we (Jack users) should take care of? Has anyone found specific inst...

Window rendering problem on setBfree and Shuriken

Hello. On my laptop (Thinkpad T440s with KXStudio 14.04) the programs setBfree and Shuriken are just black rectangles. They seem to work for the rest, but they are impossible to use as everything is invisible. What may be the problem, and why those two? Are they using some particular libraries that ...

Re: Why I'm giving up on KXStudio

After I started using KXStudio to play live with my bands, most people in the band got themselves an ISO. Yesterday I went to a friend of a friend of a guy that plays with me, for a birthday, and saw that his old PC also runs KXStudio, indirectly because of me. It made *three degrees* of separation!...

Ardour rhythm ferret

Hello. I've just discovered the "rhythm ferret" feature in Ardour, and I really like it. The problem is that, even if my computer is quite fast, when I split my drum track into the individual beats it takes ages to perform any operation (whether on that track, or anywhere else)! There is p...
