Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

This all said, none of the Voxengo plugin works on the Mixbus master bus. Putting a Voxengo plugin there that's designed for multi-channel use (even with that function disabled and plugin deleted and reinstalled) makes Mixbus switch off the monitoring. Clicking on the monitoring output choice makes ...

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

Don't know if this will help with the voxengo issue, but I suspect it might. Unless proven, I'm not really into trying things here and there. What I want to end up with is a clear procedure that I can write down and store along with other audio setup notes, with each step having a clear purpose and...

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

Before reading the replies here, what I observed and what I did is the following. The result is that all Voxengo free plugins work. First observation: Throwing all the plugins with their linvst so files at Bitwig at once chokes Bitwig. It will complain about one, you remove it, it will complain abou...

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

No, I compiled it. Looks like I picked up by coincidence a first plugin that works well since I've tried a few others from the free Voxengo collection and they do not load in Bitwig, at least yet. Bitwig complains that the plugin takes too much time. I tried them all at first so now I removed them a...

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

Got it working using LinVST as it seems the simplest solution. Thanks for all the help. Glen, that section of the AV Linux manual, the only one I read, is very well written. Clear, to the point.

Summer Theme

Quite the contrary to the current weather, here's a Summer Theme, another upbeat and bright piece this time built on acoustic bass guitar and acoustic guitars. With drums, percussions and synth coloring.

Enjoy !

Cheers.

Re: Südwestlicht: Der Sprung

It's not the HS5 really, it's the HS8s subwoofer. When I'm saying that there's no bottom, it's of course with reference audio material, a commercial production in more or less the the same genre. Say, Rammstein. The listening hardware and the room environment are important, no-one will doubt about t...

Re: Took a Number

Thanks. The sound of the Shiraki is much more standard though. The first guitar part sound was made by duplicating the track and having the second track go through Bitwig's amp cabinet simulator to give this edgy metallic guitar sound. As usual it was created in Bitwig and then mixed and masterized ...

Took a Number

Hello, I took a number and waited in this Kafkaesque office. A somewhat surreal atmosphere is given by the acoustic drums and harmonies flanked by a stubborn bass and wrapped in environmental noise. Mixed without any plugins in Mixbus32C (Ardour derived). https://soundcloud.com/nominal6/took-a-numbe...

Re: Südwestlicht: Der Sprung

Eine Frage: how do you embed pictures in the audio file ? BTW, regarding "Der Sprung" it should play nice on good monitors and not sound like a radio broadcast. I tried it on Yamaha HS5 + HS8 subwoofer at good blast volume and there's no bottom. I'd say tongue-in-cheek that taking an examp...

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

All right. Is linvst a static type of thing or does it need to run as a process when using the DAW ?

Also, do you know of any deb packages for linvst ?

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

Thanks for the replies ! It's becoming clear. The idea is pretty good, to make the .dll "appear" (wrapped) as .so for Linux DAWs. Still haven't got it to work yet, although I read the replies just now, so I will try. If the wrapping is static, present in the file system, like a new .so per...

Re: Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

It turns out that the .dll on drive_c is in ../Common Files/Steinberg/VST/Voxengo So now the 2nd part: So how to run it and, when it runs, how to use it within Ardour ? Looks like airwave is a simple choice. I got the airwave-master, and then at compilation time: In file included from /Share/src/air...

Voxengo free plugin with wine-staging ?

Hello, I'm new to this. Anyone knows about how to make a voxengo free plugin work using the current wine-staging ? I just installed wine-staging for Linux Mint 18, no problems, then I downloaded a free Voxengo plugin, the Overtone GEQ which also installed correctly. In the Program Files on the C dri...
