Re: Qtractor and plugin control from recorded clip doesn't work?

Oh, sorry, no, not midi filter, audio filter. I use it as a Wah pedal. First goes Liquidsfizz, then this plugin. I recorded midi clip with midi notes and modwheel pattern. Now I want to duplicate this thru the song, or move to different place on timeline. If modwheel data is embedded with this clip...

Ardour 8.4 maintains its GUI toolkit in its source tree

See https://ardour.org/whatsnew.html

What's hip today is outdated tomorrow. It seems that the Ardour developers have realized that the only reliably available GUI toolkit is the one that you maintain yourself.

Doesn't that remind us of many plugin developers' way to handle it?

Downloading presets and license keys can be done with a browser. A plugin doesn't have to phone home.

"But ... but ... but it's so convenient!"
Yeah. Sure.

Who are you arguing with?

There is a banjo playing Python programmer hiding between my MOTU UltraLite AVB and its interrupt.

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!

you need a PREEMPT_DYNAMIC configured kernel to get preempt=full to take effect, which in fact leads to a what was known as a low-latency kernel previously (PREEMPT). On my kernel it looks like: hm@bubu:/boot$ grep PREEMPT config-5.15.134 # CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE is not set # CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY ...

In this song I used a new approach for the sound design and production. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KcwnHo757hhAC4Sro1YQuept8SMe7v87/view?usp=drive_link I will very happy to read some comment. :D Thanks! I like the song. You break the rule that the lead vocals should be in the middle instead o...

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!

I googled around and I'm afraid that there is no way to find out the irq for an usb audio card if the driver doesn't provide any hints, e,g, in /proc/asound/cards

I hope that I am wrong.

J connected sooperlooper with "system capture" and with "playback" with help of QjackCtl.
How to do the same from command line?

You can automate it with a rules-file and a permanently runnung jack-plumbing.

Or you can use jack_connect.

ofc. this pledge applies to usb audio devices only... I'll correct the above that it applies to snd-usb-audio driven devices only. iow. the ones which are usually said "usb audio class compliant"... I could be wrong, but the motu avb doesn't seem to be one; does it appear on rtcirqus ? At...

please try the attached script and tell which IRQ we're talking about... ofc. this pledge applies to usb audio devices only, the more the better; try to plug them in and out and back again; also after rebooting; how many lines does it show? eager to know, whether the (old) rtirq script might cope w...

As I still have problems with my third ! pair of Neumanns KH80 i'm going to switch them with the Presonus Eris 5 likely. I wanted to go for the KH120, but the guy in the music store said he would prefer the Eris 5 over the KH120, especially regarding the much lower price. The saved money I'll inves...

Re: AV Linux Evolution-Mailprogramm

So I guess Evolution insists on opening the keyring and on your failing installation the keyring cannot be accessed because of a broken ownership of the keyring directory and/or datafile.

This is interesting to hear, I wouldn't think to consider that people have <3.6 of python. Could this error be caught be try/except? Python is godly btw 8) Python is a sweet poison. It looks elegant (it isn't), readable (it isn't), sane (it isn't) and finally bites your ass with backwards or maybe ...

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!

There might be a solution with the package future_fstrings that needs a "coding:" directive but I wasn't successful. Not even future-fstrings-show worked which - as I understand - can convert Python scripts with f-strings. There is a Python3.6 on my system, too, but without properly instal...
