Re: Loomer's Architect announced

This looks indeed interesting. There's a special price of Bitwig until Monday and Architect will be out on Monday too. I think Architect + Reaper could be a great and even more versatile alternative to Bitwig.

Re: Penguin Polka - One Synth Challenge #118

WTF  ?

Great composition, but absolutely not my music, though I get the humor here.
With some vocals it could become a Wiesn-Hit

Re: Standard test needed to benchmark XRUNs

I found an xrun counter that tramp wrote on this thread Yes, that could easily extended to a stress test. Here I've add a growing atan function as dsp load blob, so DSP load will grow with every circle the tests runs. It will detect then at which DSP load the first Xrun happen, and will stop the te...

Re: noise in line

Recording through the mic jack on the Laptop is the worst thing you can do. A cheap interface starts at around 30€, a mic from e.g. Behringer is < 20€. You can try recording the hiss alone and subtract the signal from your recording e.g. in Audacity or you could use an EQ to filter out the hiss freq...

Re: Sitala drum plugin

Hi - this is Scott, one of the guys from Decomposer that make Sitala (and I'm the one that did the Linux package). Sitala's always worked on Linux, but packaging / testing for Linux is complex relative to other platforms simply because there are so many different Linuxes one can target. That's why ...

Re: Unwanted distortion in Reaper

Great, if you need less latency you can go down again to 512 and 256 until you run into problems like dropouts (xruns). This is unplayable, because a total roundtrip in this case will be above 30 ms, which is noticed even by non-musicians. However, good sound cards like Presonus ones can be playabl...

I had this bug also in REAPER, but sometimes it's gone, sometimes not. The width of the solid white area can also change.

Re: Unwanted distortion in Reaper

Great, if you need less latency you can go down again to 512 and 256 until you run into problems like dropouts (xruns). With bridged pulseaudio or bridged alsa it's possible to have sound from Reaper and e.g. youtube at the same time. So, in case you need this it's possible with some tweaking.

Re: Sitala drum plugin

This looks interesting, but it's not working on Debian Stable as it uses libc6 (>= 2.27).
Debian Stable libc6 version is 2.24-11+deb9u3.
