Re: How do I write drum notation?
I've learned to write drum notation as tab by ear-transcripting songs in TuxGuitar. A simple drum pattern (boom, chack, boom, chack) looks like the following: |----------------------------| |----------------------------| |-42-42-42-42-42-42-42-42-42-| |-------40-------------40----| |----------------...

I'll have a second (closer) look at it.funkmuscle wrote:keep on rockin' and give guitarix a try again... use some IR files for the cab sound.
The screenshots and description on the project site are really promising,

I opened Jack>Setup * Driver: firewire (This selects the Ffado drivers) * Interface: hw:0 * Audio:Duplex under parameters * I checked the "Realtime" box * Priority: 70 * Frames/Period: 128 * Sample Rate: 44100 * Periods/Buffer: 2 Are you using QJackCtl? If you do, you may get X-Runs (show...

Re: collaberating
The DAW on indaba looks interesting. Does that work well or does it just get in the way? So far i haven't used it really. Just clicked a little bit around in it and it is promising, but you don't need to use it. You can upload individual tracks as well as mixed ones. If we compare indaba and kompoz...

Re: collaberating
Kompoz looks very nice. Does somebody know if there are any limitations like it is in indabamusic? File space limitations or features that are only available by a charged account? I like the feature that you can set up a license (i've seen several Creative Commons licensed projects) to your work and...

Re: hi
Thank you all! recently we moved to Berlin. Willkommen in Deutschland :D My recording process is similar. I'm using Hydrogen (drum machine) for drums, TuxGuitar (tabeditor) for writing scores for MIDI Instruments, which are exported as midi file and then played with seq24 (MIDI player), finally rec...

Re: collaberating
Don't you think handling this thing by e-mail is a bit complicated?
Sending files back and forth may be very nerving, especially if
there are many collaborators. Did you think about handling this via indabamusic.
This would make things much easier and i would be interested, too.

Re: favorite midi sequencer?
I have used tuxguitar as a sequencer in a jack enviroment. No need for this workaround just for this. Now i remmeber why i couldn't use tuxguitar, because i didn't find a transport option (like it is in Hydrogen) for syncing the played notes from it with ardour. I also raise to question if the Real...

Re: My Band's Album
When I Found You ft Amazing Well done! I like this song most. Is it possible to download the album or would you (and your band) think about making it freely available by licensing it with e.g. a Creative Commons license or something similar. Some of us would appreciate this and it would be in the m...

Re: Open-source music softwares in movies
LOL, at least it wasn't a software where they see everything in 3d with unrela commands like "hack this computer" As i said: "such a cheap method". They even didn't think about covering this. To be sure, everyone, even those people who don't have a computer, but a tv know this p...
