Re: Need support with my DAW based on Debian Squeeze

Hm... I've tried it, but there was a lot of proprietery stuff.
Besides i need some kind of Hybrid-OS. That offers all the
functions of a DAW as well as for it specialized usage.
So far i haven't found a distro that covers my needs, so
i build up a system of my own...

Re: Looking for another Linux Pro Audio OS...

You have proprietary music instruments, energy, food, housing, transportation, computers, and furniture, but somehow some software package from  nvidia  is eevilll? For me it's like a test. I try to go this way to see if it's possible and pleasant... I'm not against propriet...

Re: Looking for another Linux Pro Audio OS...

I think i will try Debian and build my own audio environment upon that, but it's hard to tune up a system until it works for pro audio use and i thought there would be a solution that fits to my requirements... that's the way to go... been my choice for years. OK, it's almost done. I switched to De...

Need support with my DAW based on Debian Squeeze

I've build my DAW upon Debian Squeeze and i'm going a straight open source way. Sometimes it's hard to stick to it, but i think it's a good opportunity to deepen my linux-knowledge. Unfurtunately i've encountered some problems i can't solve by myself and i would appreciate a little help from you: I'...

you could also use a picture with your mail-address in it to avoid spam bots.

Re: Looking for another Linux Pro Audio OS...

Tango Studio (Kamasutra) looks very interesting, but i'm not an ubuntu fan
and what about that OpenDAW thing? I've seen that 64 Studio has a post about
it and taken over the domain opendaw.com, but there are no images available.

Re: Looking for another Linux Pro Audio OS...

My second choice would be AVLinux, its a feature rich Debian build, and it works great(im just not a huge fan of pure Debian.) http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page http://www.bandshed.net/AVLinux.html AVLinux looks very convincing, but there's no 64-Bit version of it. That'...

Looking for another Linux Pro Audio OS...

I've been using contentedly openSUSE since three years now. But the decided collaboration between Microsoft and Novell , i'm looking for another distribution. I've always wanted to use a linux distribution that is free from a company and commercial motives, but is also advanced and will be continued...

Firewall (Wonderwall Cover)

For the final exam of my apprenticeship (IT specialist) there are a lot of topics i need to learn. One important topic is firewalls. I'm not really good at teaching myself by rote, so i combined business with pleasure by rewriting the lyrics of Wonderwall by Oasis: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com...

I am using the smaller version: Mobile Pre USB (1st Generation).
It was quite convenient and offers enough for homerecording.

Could you tick 'Verbose messages' in QjackCtl and post the output here? could you point me where QjackCtl is? Normaly it's in your application list, but you can also start it in a terminal. Just write the following into a terminal window and press enter: qjackctl -v AutoStatic ment you should give ...
