Re: Using DAW-buttons on a midi-keyboard

imposter,

Could you write up a little tutorial for using this Transformer function? Tim said there's no documentation for it. And it's a complicated function that I doubt most people will be able to use without some explanation.

Re: How to Write Music - The Truth

This place is... like an Internet forum. Linuxmusicians is not an exceptional place. Well, it is an internet forum. And yes, there's nothing about it that's significantly better than, nor even all that different from, any other forum. Sometimes it's entertaining. Sometimes it's informative. And som...

Re: How to Write Music - The Truth

Sorry you're unwilling to even read my response. That is your choice, but I think it reflects badly on your capacity to judge someone based upon content, rather than mere presentation. (My post "looks too long"). Incidentally, what is the point of refusing to use the Foes List to automatic...

Re: How to Write Music - The Truth

People using the word truth like you did are in my eyes not smart at all artix, I don't want you to get mad. I like you, and read all your posts, When we're discussing a serious topic, I tend to agree with you. (I realize you don't like my humor at all. And that's cool. I strongly suspect that's a ...

Re: How to Write Music - The Truth

I watched Carl's video in its entirety. (My attention span accomodates more than just perusing the titles of videos.) There's a lot of good advice there. So first of all, I don't think Carl should acquiese to pedantic nit-picking over the most innocuous detail, and should not have removed the video....

Re: Running LV2 plugins in Carla on Windows11?

You have me completely confused now. But if you're making progress, that's good.

P.S. vsthost has the ability to load and play a midi file. Try doing that to test if midi input is actually making sound on your plugin.

Re: Using DAW-buttons on a midi-keyboard

The "Input Midi Transformator" (Main Menu > Midi) can do some advanced processing of incoming midi events. Yeah, it's modeled after Calkwalk's "Event FIlter" dialog, which is probably the best feature cakewalk had. But I was under the impression that this is a non-realtime effec...

Re: KVR cafe contest at risk

This is a busy time of year. There's lots of graduations, weddings, anniversaries. People go on vacations. Folks don't want to be indoors at a computer when the weather is nice, especially after lockdowns. I recommend the organizer establish a yearly "summer break" for the contest. Put it ...

Re: Running LV2 plugins in Carla on Windows11?

I used the Windows version of Carla to convert my JSFX file to a LV2 file Forget about lv2. It's not useful on Windows. Can you instead use the Windows version of Carla to convert your JSFX file to a VST2 or VST3 file? A vst2 or vst3 plugin can be used by any windows program, even running on WINE.

Re: Running LV2 plugins in Carla on Windows11?

The Windows version of Reaper can load LV2 files. And the LV2 plugin must be a Windows dynamic link library (ie. typically a file whose name ends in ".dll")? When you say "it doesn't work", does this mean that Reaper can't even find the LV2 .dll at all? Or it tries to load it, a...

Re: Using DAW-buttons on a midi-keyboard

imposter, Notice that he has two MIDI Out ports on his keyboard. His transport messages are sent out one MIDI port. And his notes and other controller data are sent out the other MIDI port, So he needs of way of having Muse open/read from both MIDI ports at the same time. The first MIDI port must be...

Re: Running LV2 plugins in Carla on Windows11?

Is a plugin... exported to LV2 from Windows version Carla.. work? Let me see if I got this right: 1) You created a plugin using Faust. The plugin is in a form that needs to be loaded/run by a Faust framework/environment/ide/whatever. 2) Carla can use that Faust framework/environment/ide/whatever to...

If using ALSA as backend... maybe it is just muted. Wait sun. He said he's using the ALSA backend in Ardour, and it works . Here's what I think he's asking: I'm using the ALSA backend in Ardour, and it works. I'm happy with this setup. I don't have jack installed. Is not having jack installed going...

I see. I can confirm that it's default for Mate.
