My dream is to setup a lightweight studio for raspberry pi and linux.
How many tracks were you recording simultaneously? Did you have any latency issues?

Re: Why Linux? And why Linux for pro-audio?
I don't like to depend on proprietary software and closed formats. You have little recourse when the owner of the software decides to end support, or introduce something user hostile. All the work you do is tied up in that tool or format, and you're at the mercy of whoever made it (This happened to ...

Re: This is a secret for a song
I'm experienced the same issue but I got it to work eventually.jonetsu wrote:The video constantly tries to reload. I'll try later. The first 30 seconds sounds very good. Very good voice also.
Cheers.
Excellent, clear mix!
What is your experience distributing your videos with Exode? I'm intrigued.

Re: Drum module
Thank you for sharing that video! I've never worked with the EAD10 before, but I'm in awe of what it can do. I still can't believe there are no triggers on the cymbals. Incredible. I'm not aware of any easy way to do this with existing Linux software (or any other OS for that matter.) In fact, I'd b...

Re: Mind Control Music & Videos
What do you actually mean by mind control ? Someone thought they look like brainwashing material from a cult. But don't worry, there are no subliminal messages. The video is very meme-ish but it works. Thank you! I started making these after seeing those vaporwave / citypop videos that just consist...

I appreciate that you don't limit yourself to one style. There are more than a few gems on your soundcloud. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Embarassing things you did in your first recordings
Back in 1996 I did teach myself very early on to make drumkit libraries (ie Soundfonts and proprietary stuff for an old Turtle Beach card with wavetable sampling). The samples were quite bad, no velocity layers and a ridiculous mix from various sources so I had electronic, acoustic, reverbed and dr...

Embarassing things you did in your first recordings
The other day I was watching Oddity Archive (a youtube channel for audio/visual oddities), and the host told a story about making crude home recordings as a teenager. He recalled that his first recordings were made by playing his guitar in front of a cassette recorder. To record a second track, he'd...

Re: Stop motion animation
I've been making short animations recently and I've found the "Import Image Sequence" feature of Openshot very handy. https://www.openshot.org/ You'd need 1 image file per frame of animation, and they'd have to be numbered in order (frame1.jpg, frame2.jpg ... and so on). Then you import th...

Re: Ardour issue - reverting to wrong patch
One way to investigate is to load the "a-midi monitor" plugin (comes with recent Ardour) on the MIDI track, before zyn and check what data is actually sent to the instrument. Your comment was very helpful. I'm still exploring new features in the most recent version of Ardour, and I hadn't...

Re: here's an idea using AI
I would bet it is not as subjective as most people think. However, I think this sort of applications would be good to get good starting points rather than perfect solutions. Just like painters buy pre-made canvas instead of making their owns. You're not wrong. If you're working in an established st...

Re: Yo!
Just curious, what mics and interface are you using? I'm using Scarlett 2i4 and a behringer xm8500 (super cheap mic, but it's fine for what I'm doing). I use an alesis io4 or sometimes just my zoom h4 in interface mode. I have a variety of condenser and dynamic mics. One set is from samson (I got a...

Re: here's an idea using AI
Wonder how that would work. If it was anything like other AI projects I've encountered, an AI for audio would be trained on a corpus of existing songs. You could put in thousands of songs and it would look for patterns in how songs tend to be mixed / mastered. In the best case scenario, an AI could ...

Re: 44.1 kHz is slowly reaching its end
Though I'm still not worried about it if the difference is inaudible. You can run his script and hear for yourself. I did run the script. Maybe I'm interpreting the results wrong. The original file and the 100th iteration of resampling sound identical to me. If I can't tell the difference after 100...
