Re: Ultralite AVB

Just found out that I can switch the web interface into a mode where I can adjust the host buffer size and host safety offset. Via JSON, there are parameters like: "host/os":"mac", "host/win/buffer_sizes_1x":"16:32:64:128:256:512:1024", "host/win/safety_o...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Ah Ok. I do not have any buffer setting adjustment in my web interface, 1.3.4. But in the screenshot there's TouchConsole  Just found out that there's "/ext/obank/4/ch/63" via json. Counting from 0 that's 64 channels at least at some point internally. http://motu.com/techsupport/tec...

Re: Ultralite AVB

according to the Ultralite AVB specs: 64 in/out @ 44.1 or 48kHz, 32 in/out 88.2 or 96kHz I thought it was limited to 24/24... If I remember correctly it is limited to 24 via USB (for windows/mac users as well?). 64 channels is USB/Hardware combined with AVB/Hardware (1.20+128 extended USB channel c...

Re: Ultralite AVB

How long does it work for you? The most I get out of my 8pre-ES is about 20 seconds (a rough guess) before it swaps to the next bank of channels, It "works" forever without problems (single crack when switching samplerate of course) here, because I'm practically using it as a mixer with w...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Unfortunately version 1.3.2 is not available for the 8pre-ES, only the 828es even though they share the three most recent firmware versions available. It does work "successfully" ;) (for a certain time...) for most of us here. 1.3.2 or 1.3.4 (but the newest 2 versions) don't make a differ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Over here the cheapest i210 based card is 35-40€. As long as the device is directly connected to the computer with no switch in between even a non-avb capable NIC should work. This certainly requires writing a trivial userspace AVB driver first. The hades-canyon NUCs seem to have i210 chips as well...

Did you try with the latest, even more sensible firmware version?

Re: Ultralite AVB

I tend towards the Motu, but like that issue be fixed beforehand even though i might hook it up through ethernet (AVB) instead of USB. I thought about this as well. Reading through motunation, there seem to be hickups even with the motu avb switch (450€)... There are cheap AVB certified PCIe cards ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Just got mine and it seems like I'm having things worse than most people. Try down grading your FW. Since especially the last FW introduces more bit-crushing, the key for our problem lies there. The sad thing is, someone capable at MOTU could fix this or at least give us a hint in the right directi...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Has anyone experimented with downgrading their AVB firmware to 1.2.8+378 (September 2016 release)? Yup, I tried at least following firmware versions : 1.2.5+308 1.2.8+378 1.2.9+479 1.3.2+520 1.3.4+558 1.3.4+603 1.3.4+577 1.3.4+603 For Me, the time when the bitcrusher effect kicks in varies too much...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Well, that's anticlimactic. :/ I've gotten much better speakers since before (Genelec 8030As) and just tried the Ultralite AVB for the first time with them. I can clearly hear now that the RME Babyface Pro sounds better, so I'll likely sell my Ultralite AVB. Too bad I already broke the screen carry...

Re: Ultralite AVB

There's a new firmware update for the Ultralite AVB. https://cdn-data.motu.com/downloads/audio/AVB/firmware/io/180620/MOTU%20AVB%201.3.4%2B603%20for%20UltraLite%20AVB%20and%20Stage-B16.update Changelog: v1.3.4+603 (Release Date 2018-06-20) Introduces new Touch Console™ Fixes an intermittent issue th...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Has anyone tried this patch? There is no patch as of yet. See my other post, if you want to try, you can use the quirks option. Either way (compiling a patched kernel or using quirks), I think just changing the VID:PID won't be enough. You'll have to change the delay parameter to what the ultralite...

Re: Ultralite AVB

. I am quite busy right now so it might take me a while. I came across that patch as well. Since I'm too lazy to build a patched module, I tried adding options snd_usb_audio index=3 quirk_alias=07fd0005:168600dd and options snd_usb_audio index=3 quirk_alias=07fd0005:154e1003 to /etc/modprobe.d/soun...

Re: Ultralite AVB

Has any of you manged to get a decent performance with jack2? Nope. Jack2 is a nightmare regarding xruns with this card, I even tried using rt-kernel instead of ck (and many other things) without success. Like you, Jack1 runs supersmooth here without xruns. I just heard the crackling again when usi...
