Re: eDrummer beta

what about implementing your own output lib... allow to "record" into JACK It's possible. My Windows version does. But the whole point of the program is to drop latency as low as possible, so JACK makes no sense. On my system, the lowest jack buffer size without xruns is 200 frames. With ...

Re: Sneak Preview: LV2 Create

The developers/users of LV2 for non-embedded-ingen purposes suffer from the use of TTL. The design itself suffers from the burden of supporting that one use case. I'm as well not a fan of the turtle syntax, I would prefer json However, I see a advance in the use of "config files" to load ...

Re: Sneak Preview: LV2 Create

That means that we all must suffer in order to support a single use case What exactly makes you suffer? If you didn't like LV2, you can still use LADSPA. LADSPA isn't dead, as you properly know, Tim Goetze have just released CAPS 0.9.13, and Fons Adriaensen released a famous update of the REV plugi...

Re: Sneak Preview: LV2 Create

FWIW, drobilla has a specific agenda for TTL. It's not there by accident or really because it needs to be. It is there to support his intensions of being able to export Ingen graphs as TTL files that can be loaded in LV2 hosts. That means that we all must suffer in order to support a single use case...

Re: Sneak Preview: LV2 Create

I assume you're referring to the Calf plugins then. Well, I can't use logic against feelings. All I can say is that the the utility of such displays is as questionable as their accuracy is suspect ;-). I've actually wondered about the accuracy of the calf analyzer because its behavior seems a littl...

Re: Sneak Preview: LV2 Create

FTR, I would also be interested in knowing what LV2 (FX) plugins people think they can't do without. I use zero LV2 plugins in my own work and don't find it to be the slightest hinderance. I like using lv2 plugins for their guis because I feel much more comfortable with visual feedback, especially ...

Re: falkTX radio interview

Sound effects aside, the problem is that the MP3 itself is corrupt. Different decoders are going to handle that differently. I got better results playing it with sox than with mplayer, but the fact is the MP3 is corrupted.

Re: Ideas for screencasts(tutorials) on Ardour?

Don't forget to include some comic relief while you wait for Ardour to finish starting up and hide its splashscreen, which typically takes quite a bit longer than loading an entire session in Non:

Re: Introduction and orientation request

Keep in mind, a $35 RaspberryPi will be both quierter, more powerful, and use far less electricity than the system you mention.

If you have only one CPU core, then JACK1 is fine.

Re: falkTX radio interview

I'm sorry you found the MP3 unlistenable male. I'm well aware of the many flaws but the interview isn't going to get much better than that without us re-recording it unfortunately as that MP3 is the raw, unedited source and master file. The production quality should improve as I get more practice a...

Re: falkTX radio interview

The unedited version of this interview is now available for download from the Dark City Archives page. I will have to edit it soon to remove the copyrighted tracks I played during the show. The intro jingle didn't play properly as I uploaded it at the last minute in a hurry before the show and it w...

Re: Any audio (not music) and video organizer?

Hi there, what's up. I have video and audio files where i am playing different instruments in different keys and beats. I would like to have a software where i can 'label' the different files with different categories, so then i can search easily, for example, 'didgeridoo videos in 7 beats'. so, ba...
