Preventing a JACK connection at startup
I have an audio interface with two input channels. I use the first input for the microphone, and the second one for an electric guitar (or a guitar mic when I record acoustic). That is, the two inputs of my interface are used very differently, in particular they are not the two channels of one stere...

The mystery of LMMS' DrumSynth
In the default "samples" folder of LMMS there is a folder called "drumsynth", whose files are not quite audio files, but seem to be presets for a drum synth plugin. For example, the file "classic_clap.ds" is a text file, and it starts reading as follows: [General] Versi...

sync jack transport to external midi clock
Hello. Is it possible to use an external MIDI sequencer, connect it to the computer and have jack transport "slaved" to the sequencer's clock? Can MIDI clock data talk to Jack in that way?

Controlling tempo via external clock in Guitarix
Hello. I'm having a lot of fun with the Digital Stereo Delay effect in Guitarix.
I was wondering, is it possible to hook the BPM control to either an external MIDI clock, or to the Jack Transport?

Percussion (Afro-Cuban)
Is there a nice free library of samples or soundfont for Afro-Cuban style percussion? Different sounds of congas, etc?

Re: Cannot use built-in webcam with external audio interface
Actually, it works like a charm if I enable USB3 from the BIOS setup.
With today's drivers it's safe to use USB3...right?

Cannot use built-in webcam with external audio interface
Hello. I have an external audio interface, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. It works like a charm. However, when in Cadence I select to use that interface (for audio input) instead of the built-in microphone, the built-in webcam stops working. It's as if the webcam can work only if the computer's microph...

Tips for EDM production in Linux
Hello! I'd like to experiment a bit with electronic dance music. Is anybody here willing to share tips? Are there good blogs or Youtube tutorials? Mainly, I'd like to see how to create a nice "explosive" drum track. Also, are there any tutorials on how to do that in Linux (and using which ...

Repositories and SHA1
Hi all! I've been away for a while.
Has anyone managed to solve the repository encryption issue?
I haven't been able to update in ages, including Ardour (to version 5)!
Edit: by the way, I have 16.04.
Thanks.

Tell my system not to install any generic kernels anymore
I downloaded KXStudio from the repos and installed a low latency kernel, and then uninstalled linux-image-generic (the meta package). But for some reason, the system keeps updating the generic kernel every time a new version is out. (And moreover, it does not keep two versions of the lowlatency kern...

Re: How to choose as default output channels different from 1 and 2
Or maybe, is there a way to tell the Alsa-Jack bridge on *which channels* of the interface to connect?
