Re: Tlp and audio
Yep, I also played a bit with this yesterday. It didn't do much with the soundcard. I guess I have to spill the money for a better one, and that's it. Anyway, thank you helping!

Re: Tlp and audio
Hello! Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I thought so that that would be the main culprit in my case. So I was thinking about this part: # Exclude listed devices from USB autosuspend (separate with spaces). # Use lsusb to get the ids. # Note: input devices (usbhid) are excluded automatically (see below) #...

Tlp and audio
So, today I had to scan something and my Canoscan Lide for some reason stopped working. Long story short, it turned out that it had to do with power saving optimizations on my laptop, since the scanner is usb powered. I disabled tlp and set the cpu governor to 'performance'. So I figure, this surely...

Re: Guitarists, share your virtual chain
Well, the guitarix stereo convolver allow to set the volume, pan between left and right and set a delta delay, select the part of the file to use and set a gain curve on it, but, it ain't support the use of different files for the channels. A workaround would be to use multiple existing convolvers ...

Re: Guitarists, share your virtual chain
Funny, I just realized that there are amp IR's, not just cab. Is there a convolver like Poulin's LeCab, where you can load multiple impulses, pan them left and right, change their volume etc?

Re: Guitarists, share your virtual chain
I like the "Dirty Marshall" sound. What effects did you use in Guitarix for that?

Re: Guitarists, share your virtual chain
Thank you for your answers. As I said, I already have amps, one tube and one SS, but I would like to get a good sound from virtual effects for practical reasons, like practicing, learning songs, recording videos with me playing. I can't always mic the amps, because of, oh well, my unappreciative nei...

Guitarists, share your virtual chain
OK, I tried everything - Guitarix, Rakarrack, various plugins inside Carla, but for the life of me, I simply cannot create a satisfactory sound with my computer. There's always something lacking, some kind of presence, and the sound is kind of...hollow, for the lack of better words. What effects do ...

Video editor or capture program that is JACK aware
Is there a software that can capture both video from webcam and audio from JACK, the same way jack_capture can do? The purpose of this is to record videos of me playing over songs and backing tracks, on the fly, without too much editing and hassle.

Re: Is there a Hydrogen type of app, but for bass?
I tried to install Seq64, but I get "config.status: error: cannot find input file: `Makefile.in'".

Is there a Hydrogen type of app, but for bass?
Wouldn't that be nice, to have a pattern-oriented sampler for bass, with a layout similar to Hydrogen? I think I can already use Hydrogen for that, but first, I don't know if I can control the length of the notes, and second, loading a drum kit and a set of bass samples would be quite cumbersome and...

Re: How to prevent autostart of the Pulse Audio bridge
I reinstalled the system again, and the autostart is solved, but I still don't have submenus in the applet indicator. I ran cadence from the terminal, but nothing much there...just this:
Code: Select all
$ cadence
Using Tray Engine 'Qt'

Re: How to prevent autostart of the Pulse Audio bridge
Will try that. In the mean time, I created the the .pulse folder myself, and after reboot, I lost the submenus in the cadence applet. Respawning still not solved.

Re: How to prevent autostart of the Pulse Audio bridge
Yes, there is no such folder. Actually, I just rebuilt my system from scratch, and the only time I typed sudo and pulseaudio together was when I installed the module. Is there a way to fix that?

How to prevent autostart of the Pulse Audio bridge
I am using KX Studio repos on Ubuntu 16.04, and every time I start Jack with Cadence, the pulseaudio jack bridge module autostarts with it. How do I prevent that? The main problem is that I can't even stop it. Every time I stop, it loads itself on its own.
