Re: Migrating to FreeBSD

If we're not careful with this conversation, @GMaq might go rogue and rebase AVLinux on to FreeBSD... And then where would we be? For starters, he would have to decide whether to change the name or to just let it be a big lie.

I'm not familiar with that Magix product, but this conversation might help you.

Re: No Budget Pianos

It's because some audio hardware supports one clock rate better than the other. I never thought I would say this, but thanks Jeff for being the voice of reason. After testing my hardware, I concluded that it performs better at 48kHz than 44.1kHz, so that's what I use for all of my projects. Also, t...

Re: Stereo mixing

It sounds to me like there are at least five vocal recordings. One panned center, two panned hard left, two panned hard right. The narrower sounding vocal lines are just the first one, then a left and right are added, and then one more each left and right. If you try to do this in your own productio...

Re: Multiple Versions of Same Instrument (Drumgizmo) Plugin at Same Time?

LV2 plugins use an internal identifier that should only change across versions if they are backward incompatible. Usually this identifier does not change. Plugin hosts are expected to only load one plugin with a given identifier. One way that might work to do this is to put the two versions of drum ...

Re: Help with SFZ groups please..

@GMaq I only vaguely understand the SFZ format, and mostly resort to imitating stuff I find, like Harry Potter reading annotations from the half blood prince. However, adding a "polyphony=1" directive to each of your hihat groups might do what you want. Actually I was missing an off_by co...

Re: No Budget Orchestra Plugins

Hey @j_e_f_f_g, what's the license on the plugins? I didn't see it mentioned in the download.
