c-drone - Echoes of India

I never was in India, but I know about echoes :) - this sketch http://alooshu.byethost17.com/c-drone.mp3 is featuring Steve Harris' Delayorama plugin. It is also featuring an interesting guitar tuning a friend of mine learned when studying history of music at university, and they had a Hindu profess...

Fun

As the name says: http://alooshu.byethost17.com/fun.mp3 . I'm still considering the solo a placeholder, but the groove & texture are getting where I want them. I'm becoming comfortable with Reaper, and interestingly, that's making me appreciate Ardour more, too - the two are interesting to compa...

Re: 4 on the floor lydian mode fun

Very cool! Not sure what's trailing the guitar when you play it That could be two things, 1) a guitar synth, GxTuner for guit-to-midi, ZynAddSubFx with modded FM Trumpet sound 1 oct up and generous portamento (mix of Metheny's and Satriani's approach to a synth voice added, if you like); 2) more pr...

Re: Internal sound card Linux?

if it's really only to get the audio off the computer, a built in chip like e.g. intel hda, doesn't have to be inferior to a card, if it can natively do the sampling rates you want

Welcome :)

aloo_shu here. Original Scores & Recordings is my favorite subforum, and a nice place to present recordings, and find out how others are ticking musically

4 on the floor lydian mode fun

Here it is: http://alooshu.byethost17.com/practice.mp3 , and at that host, you'll need javascript enabled to make it to the real file. Just another snapshot into me having fun, rehearsing by improvising over small loops, this time it's Reaper running MIDI bass and drum, then improvising with my Carl...

Re: long long impro of doubtful quality

btw, this song has a partner, http://alooshu.byethost17.com/lala.mp3 , an older mix, where I had just cut a different impro in two and made it two guitars soloing at the same time, panned l/r a bit. At the time, I found that mix worse, but playing it today by chance, I don't even think it's terrible...

Re: long long impro of doubtful quality

Oh cool, that was exactly what I was hoping for: that this would function as an encouragement.

Very happy now :)

long long impro of doubtful quality

Well here it is http://alooshu.byethost17.com/lalala.mp3 (beware, host places javascript around the file, need to load before downloading), and it's exactly as the name is promising. Why I'm uploading it regardless, is because it may exemplify an approach to improvising - just going and keeping goin...

Re: Imago Dei

WOW. This is really great, I like it a lot. Just writing after a first listen on a tablet, but I'm sure I'll re-listen many times. Who I felt reminded of, was the guitar - percussion duo Steve Tibetts & Marc Anderson. In the unlikely case that you never heard of them, I'm pretty sure you'd find ...

broken 5th proximal phalanx blues

So, an IRC friend, and a computer music maker, bumped his pinky hard, was in pain for a night, and when he came back from the doc next morning, said (he's an anatomy nerd): what really happened was that the proximal phalanx snapped in half no painful resetting is necessary, nor did my attempts have ...

Re: Zynspiration

Hey, cool. Drums might profit from variation, synth sounds are definitely cool. Afaik, at least the kxstudio version of LMMS has Carla as an instrument, Carla is a pretty universal plugin host, in this way, you can get external instruments into LMMS, like a different version of Zyn/Yoshimi, Helm, Am...

more 'production' work: Chill-J

Again a (two) afternoon production, this tune doesn't contain any of my own playing, but now that I seem to have discovered a swift workflow for turning small raw musical ideas into presentable songs through editing and programming, it's making me happy to apply these techniques to the creative outp...

Re: Rated Blue "JOY" Album Released!

So, it has taken me a while to go to town and get the streams for offline listening at home, but now I'm finally having the album, and it's a keeper. This is just the second listen, on a tablet, and I haven't even had the opportunity to listen on real speakers, but I didn't want to procrastinate any...

Re: 'blast'

Do you have anything else uploaded now? The link in your sig just gives an "Internal Server Error". I wouldn't mind hearing some more. I think that's fixed now, turns out that the server interpreted links without a protocol header (https://) as relative , so clyp.it/[..] became linuxmusic...
