Re: Hydrogen notes on track-staff in Rosegarden
The hydrogen GM kit only has 16 instruments, from 36 (kick) to 51 (crash jazz). I realize now that it is kind of but incomplete GM. Try producing the sounds in fluidsynth (qsynth) with a general MIDI soundfont, such as FluidR3_GM (available in debian and derivatives. After installing the package &qu...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Generation with Ubuntu 17 and Audacity
However when I type lspci in console, as su, it doesn't show it. Try lsusb In Sound in Settings I can see... Digital Input(S/PDIF)Scarlett Solo USB Analog Input Scarlett Solo USB Same for Outputs. So it's there. Pulseaudio, the default audio server, detects the card, so far so good. So my first que...

Re: Hydrogen notes on track-staff in Rosegarden
What I need to know is what notes on THIS drum-track are supposed to be what drum sound and where SHOULD they be on the staff for Hydrogen to play them all correctly? That depends on the drumkit you load in hydrogen. If you load General Midi kit and the MIDI file is programmed to the General MIDI p...

Re: Difference between jackd and jackdbus
Thanks for the clarification, falkTX, but I don't think I said anything wrong.
I understand that jackdbus in jack2 is built-in but it is optional at run time. So you may have jack2 installed (as it is nowadays the default in most distros) and make qjackctl start plain jackd.

Re: Difference between jackd and jackdbus
I find jackdbus very useful for pulseaudio-jack easy integration.
If you dont need It, just disable dbus interface in qjackctl's options

Re: Ardour Speed playing
But if i try this it isn't fixed but only when changed. And if loosened it jumps back to 100%. That happens in sprung mode. Try the wheel mode. From the manual: The Shuttle Speed Control supports 2 operating modes, that can be chosen with right click > Mode: Sprung mode that allows for a temporary ...

Re: No default audio output via Jack - Zoom H5 as USB audio interface - Ubuntu 14.04
Hi, you are welcome! If I understand correctly, the issue is that the Zoom H5 and my Intel onboard card are both registered as 'hw:0'? hw:0 seems to be the graphics card that has three HDMI audio devices: hw:0,3, hw:0,7 and hw:0,8 (according to previously posted output of aplay list). At this point ...

Re: No default audio output via Jack - Zoom H5 as USB audio interface - Ubuntu 14.04
OK, the H5 has one unique duplex device in both modes. So maybe there is a difference in the number of ports or whatever but the short name given by alsa to the card is always hw:H5 and the only device is #0 for both capture and playback, in both modes. Try to start jack in "capture only" ...

Re: No default audio output via Jack - Zoom H5 as USB audio interface - Ubuntu 14.04
Hi! If I select 'Multitrack' on the Zoom H5, the Zoom H5 is recognised only as an output device by ALSA. mmm, are you sure? Note that the general audio configuration is a pulseaudio configuration frontend. Don't use it to solve problems that involves alsa and/or jack. ... it is not recognised as an ...

Re: JACK claimed to give
sudo adduser jeff audio will include you in the audio group. Reboot and check "groups" in a terminal again. The file not found error doesn't seem a problem with qjackctl itself. How are you setting up qjackctl? Are you following this tutorial? http://libremusicproduction.com/articles/demy...

Re: How2get nice accordion sound
I don't understand how to implement these in the program's i normaly use. http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/sfz You need linuxsampler to play sfz files. Carla is a nice front-end for linuxsampler and more. Afaik, LMMS doesn't support sfz but it supports sf2. Maybe this helps?: https://superuser.com/q...

Re: Giving Jack runtime priority on hybrid system with KXStudio.
Does that look OK? Not sure what the difference is between 95 and 99. Is that a percentage value? They are not percentage values. If you look at htop and sort the processes by priority you will see some processes owned by root and running at RT, the maximum priority. With a less priority are proces...

Re: Jackd with Line in as playblack
There will be a cable connection going from the windows machine to the Line in input of the Ubuntu usb sound card And then? Are there speakers connected to the USB card or what will you do with the audio signal? In any case, from the POV of the ubuntu computer and audio card, the cable is connected...
