Re: Downtempo-IDM-Electro-Industrial-Soundtrack: "Lies We Cannot Afford" by ProtoZone
This is quite good. A variation on the wobble bass that's seemingly a dear thing to additive synthesis enthusiasts. The use of various tones in instruments does not disrupt the main thread. I haven't heard yet your other material, so this is the first one. I'm listening now to "Peace in Korea&...

Re: Peertube is the new FLOSS (and decentralized) alternative to YTube
#Peertube beta has been launched last week, the source code and docs are here , there are already many open public instances , a lot of which are dedicated to music, like the one hosting mine : https://exode.me/videos/watch/fed67262-6edb-4d1c-833b-daa9085c71d7 (all my videos are here ) This is part...

Re: Thanks for the kernels
Hi, Glad to hear you're finding {AVLINUX RT KERNEL's} useful! Thanks for sharing the PulseAudio tweaks, and your music is really good BTW, keep up the great work!! You're quite welcome. Thanks for appreciating my tunes. I just recently upgraded my studio so it should be improving. I will try and co...

Re: Android Audio Latency explained & benchmarked
I Just came across 2 good articles (although dated a couple of years) explaining the latency issues Android faces compared to iOS: http://superpowered.com/androidaudiopathlatency http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/11/13/android-audio-latency-in-depth-its-getting-better-especially-with-the-nexus-5x-a...

It's a good idea. Thanks
I think the app is a good idea, and Mr. Snowden is a good gentleman who was unfairly treated and set up. His social contributions are mainly only known by those who took the effort to research how the claims against him were false. Nevertheless, I like this kind of app. It's the kind of tool that co...

Thanks for the kernels
@GMaq, thanks so very much for those tasty kernels! You and the AVLINUX (/ KXstudio) approach have made my Linux life so much easier. I finally got back into making more music and less configuring. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting. I have no idea of how to compile anything, so whenever something i...

Re: Optimize Manjaro just like Ubuntu Studio
I don't know a lot about that topic, but from what I understand, it's the proprietary video drivers (or similar) which might be the incompatibility crashing your system harshly. The AMD/ATI video in particular seems to have had recent troubles for a lot of the Linuxes because AMD/ATI didn't provide ...

Re: Your vision of the future of Linux audio
@Michael Willis... I was misusing the term vaporware. There are constantly distros and programs and kernels and whatnot that go in and out of style or activity, but in terms of ingenuity and flexibility they tend to be really impressive and almost always there's somebody somewhere who finds a way to...

Downtempo-IDM-Electro-Industrial-Soundtrack: "Lies We Cannot Afford" by ProtoZone
https://hearthis.at/protozone/lieswecannotafford/ https://www.iconspng.com/images/truth-is-full-of-lies/truth-is-full-of-lies.jpg This is a mixture of a variety of styles that I like. This is the near-final draft. I will only be adding some minor subtle elements later this year. But I really hope yo...

Re: Free Downloads by ProtoZone: Yay Flashy Mix!
It's probably both things that you both say + the stuff I said too. I'm in a totally different room these days with a different shape and size, and while I did like the Alesis's, these do seem better to my ears for whatever reason. I'm not saying they are better speakers than the other brand, just t...

Is that needed?
I don't understand much about these suggested changes to the mounting/filesystem/RAM/etc. I've never been advised to do it in the past. Are they really necessary? I'm running a 32-bit distro, and not in PAE mode, so I can't get to the other 4 GB of RAM anyhow, right? Also, I get an error message dur...

Re: International Beats
I don't know much about this topic, but I really like Towa Tei (Tei Towa) from Japan. Here's one of my favourites from him: https://youtu.be/rHgTORRI-U0 He's the sampler genius from Deee-Lite. The video makes me laugh too. Just in case anybody forgot who Deee-Lite is, here you go: https://youtu.be/e...

Re: Why Linux? And why Linux for pro-audio?
1. Why use Linux and FOSS? 2. Why use the same for pro-audio? I got fed up with Mac OS being difficult to customize and to difficult know intimately and being tied to expensive parts and firmware and proprietary formats. I got fed up with Windows OS being repeatedly instable and tied to a corporati...

Re: Your vision of the future of Linux audio
Just keep going! Linux is strong in 2018 and still going. The naysayers said stuff couldn't be done and they were wrong. Like for example, "you can't use PulseAudio for pro audio work in Linux" (WRONG)... Talk to my hearthis.at page and download my tunes made in Linux with PulseAudio on. :...
