Re: A Midi Logging Tool For Jack?
I need to monitor some of the midi messages my device is emitting in some sort of log or viewer. Are there any jack programs that give accurate message monitoring including things like polyphonic aftertouch or velocity? If the device sends ALSA-MIDI (and all of the hardware I know does) try aseqdum...

Re: (X)ubuntu 18.04: firefox : no soundcloud audio
My (and other people's) problems were similar: strange balance with Soundcloud (one channel louder than the other, Pulseaudio outputs to 3(!) channels), but NO problems with Youtube. I am no Pulseaudio expert. Maybe Pulseaudio can be tweaked. Just watch pavumeter when playing Youtube-videos and Sou...

Re: (X)ubuntu 18.04: firefox : no soundcloud audio
Do you have an interface with more than 2 outputs? Then you need channels=2 in module-jack-sink, else Pulseaudio freaks out with Soundcloud because it tries to do strange surround sound things and fails. Yes, there are 8 outputs to the 1010LT audio card. Although I never tweaked that channels param...

Re: Low Latency Kernel On Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
I tried the Liquorix kernel and it's the same as always: the Ubuntu lowlatency kernel works best with Qtractor sessions where I need buffer sizes above 256. At least on my machines.

Re: (X)ubuntu 18.04: firefox : no soundcloud audio
Anyone knows about this ? Using firefox fhere's sound from youtube but soundcloud is as silent as it can be. firefox does not even start to play the soundcloud piece and as such does not show up in pavucontrol. Any fix for this ? Cheers. Do you have an interface with more than 2 outputs? Then you n...

Re: Bottom end distorted on mp3's
128 kBit/s and less?
I had distortions on the low end in mp3 with few instruments and a deep female voice. But these distortions could be heard on other equipment, too.
Convert them to wav, e.g. by dragging into Audacity. Distortions gone? Then it's your software player.

Re: Newbie with hydrogen, midi gate and a few more questions.
Thank you for your reply. So I need to use an external plugin to filter midi. That is OK. I'll give it a try. About the audio getting cut... I already do have the "Ignore note off" option selected. I'll try to describe my problem a bit better. A cymbal sound for example lasts for many sec...

Re: Roland r 26 detected, but not working
Just a quick tip with Linux. Plug & Play compatible audio devices usually have better luck working on Linux as they don't require drivers (Things that don't require drivers on Mac will probably work on Linux). For things that need drivers, sometimes they exist on Linux and may even built into t...
