Re: audio damage
@thebutant What version of libc6 are your running on your system? libc6 2.30-0ubuntu2.1 Could that be related to the not showing up in Mixbus, showing up fine in Qtractor-thing? I run Pop!_OS 19.10 with KXStudio repos. EDIT: I see from previous posts the issue with old libc6 builds. However I run t...

Re: audio damage
Quanta native build for Linux ready :D ... Yes. :D This seems like a synth right up my alley. Really interesting! But unfortunately, when I download the demo, it doesn't show up in Mixbus (32C, my main daw). Qtractor recognizes it and loads it just fine, but as someone has mentioned here about othe...

Re: CALF Audio plug-in
2) Why since a while we cannot to use these wonderful plug-ins inside Audacity? ??? Is there some way to fix this? ??? I think I read this question a bit differently than the other repliants here. Am I right to read it as "why aren't Calf plugins in Audacity anymore"? 'Cause they used to ...

Re: Any Ab.Live alternative?
I don't think there is any open source alternative that would fully replace the functions of Ableton Live. My experience is that open source programmers (luckily) make stuff more based on own ideas rather than to replace specific proprietary software. And generally the software isn't as packed with ...

Re: No pulseaudio after KXStudio repos
This is how I bridge Jack to PulseAudio after installing said package: pactl load-module module-jack-sink & pactl set-default-sink jack_out & You just fixed it for me! :D Thank you so much, both of you! Maybe I've been lucky, but it has always just worked for me before, straight from instal...

Re: No pulseaudio after KXStudio repos
You are probably missing pulseaudio-module-jack. Well, as I wrote I have actually installed it. And it's running, even though it now starts most often , not always , as I'm used to. So the problem seems to be not jack, not Jack Sink/pulseaudio-module-jack (well, it's also a bit unstable), but a sta...

No pulseaudio after KXStudio repos
I recently installed Linux Mint 19.2 on my new computer, and have for several reasons replaced it with Pop_OS. Which works great for me! But in both OSs I have the same issue: After installing KXStudio repos, kxstudio-meta-audio, kxstudio-default-settings and pulseaudio-module-jack, I seem to lose p...

Re: Lowpass filters cutting off 20khz-48khz?
They're not about the same thing. One is the sample rate, eg. how many samples per second, 44K1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz, etc, of the audio material is sampled digitally. The other is about the audio frequency range contained in the audio material itself. An audio filter will filter the audio frequencies, ...

Lowpass filters cutting off 20khz-48khz?
I record and edit in 48khz. But every lowpass filter I have (let's take Calf as an example) have a max frequency of 20khz. So when a lowpass filter is all open, when all sound is supposed to run through, when it's practically bypassed - does it nevertheless cut all frequencies from 20000 hz to 48000...

Qtractor - automate modwheel and pitchwheel
I feel a bit stupid for asking about this, as I think there's some basic knowledge that I've missed out on. But is there a way to automate modwheel and pitchwheel in Qtractor? Most synths (well, all the ones I've checked) don't have these two as automation parameters. And I've noticed that if I reco...

Re: Getting started with VCV Rack [updated 2/28]
I just listened to this interview with Andrew Belt, the maker of VCV Rack: https://artmusictech.libsyn.com/podcast-211-andrew-belt-vcv-rack Apart from simply recommending it, as it's very interesting, I also want to ask about something he mentions towards the end - the vst version of VCV Rack named ...

Re: Getting started with VCV Rack [updated 2/28]
Look at the screenshot I posted above, upper left. There's a MIDI module. That module takes the MIDI input from the DAW and 'converts' it to a 'voltage' value related to a scale. But it will not stop the note that's played. For that you need the gate output from that MIDI module and connect it to a...

Re: Getting started with VCV Rack [updated 2/28]
I've been playing around with VCV rack quite a bit, and I enjoy it sooo much. So I was very happy to read this thread and discover the vst. That's really what I've been dreaming of. However I cannot find out how to get any sound from the vst in qtractor. Like where to start, how to make a midi trigg...

Re: There's a lack of Qtractor video tutorials..
Also, there doesn't seem to be a shortcut key that can be used to perform the split itself. Well, if you go to Help -> Shortcuts, and scroll down just a little, you can make your own shortcut key for "Edit/Clip/Split". I use Alt+S, as I find that to be both logical and easy to use. But th...
