Guitar signal software-effects post processing

Sheeesh! I do't even know if that's the way to describe it. Is there any (preferably Linux) software that allows me to input a clean .WAV file and THEN transform the tone as if it had been plugged into such a stomp-box while being recorded? This could be standalone or some sort of Audacity plug-in, ...

A scale is a chord filled up with notes A chord is a scale with some notes removed Sorry for bouncing back a little late but I find the above interesting. Could you expand on it a little more? A chord being a scale with some notes removed is something I understand only to the extent that for exampl...

Guitar Rig 5 advice?

I'm casing this app for possible use. I had tried to get it running under wine before but that endeavor is on hold for now, I will try again later, maybe. This is about Gr5 (using windows 7) period. 1 Can I give Gr5 an mp3 of a guitar lead track and have it 'pretty it up'? 2 I'm trying the Demo and ...

VLC to start using JACK in AUTO?

If I want to hear VLC audio while JACK is running I need to set "Audio" to "Jack" in VLC preferences, save, exit and relaunch.

Is there a way to have VLC latch itself to JACK automatically while "Auto" is in prefs instead of "Jack"?

How to start 2 files at once with Jack?

Using JACK I want to start a file loaded into VLC (to be monitored) by hitting the record button in Audacity. If it is possible to concurrently start an audio file loaded into Audacity AS WELL that would be super.

Thing is I've never done this with Jack.

Choir hang in Rosegarden

Using Suse TW, Rosegarden-17.04, qSynth-0.3.8 and one Gen-Midi #52 "Aah Choir" track among less than a dozen others. The choir staff is populated in the first and the last third but is supposed to be silent in the middle third. Problem is that it fails to silence at the end of the first th...

[Dropped] Re: Hydrogen notes on track-staff in Rosegarden

I tried everything, even with a level of success but finally reverted to the departure condition with the higher note ignored beacuse the midi is just plain badly done. I cannot edit it, ain't no drummer, it suffices for my needs. Thanks for the help al the same. I learned a few things in the proces...

Re: Hydrogen notes on track-staff in Rosegarden

Thank you Pablo! If you load General Midi kit and the MIDI file is I did load the Gmkit into Hydrogen, the only other stock kit is TR808 (whatever that is) and it gives the same results. Not sure about: programmed to the General MIDI protocol ?? I imported the midi into Rosegarden where I work on t...

Hydrogen notes on track-staff in Rosegarden

I've just started using Hydrogen as a plugin to which to assign drum tracks. Beginning with importing a midi file into Rosegarden, setting up jack and other syths, I next assign each track to a virtual instrument. The drum track is just like any other midi track and is missing the usual drum notatio...

Re: Can U id this guitar?

What a nice guitar. To bad you don't have it anymore. Reminds me at my first. A good quality late 70's Les Paul. Then the time came playing electic didn't interest me anymore (and girls interested me more) and i exchanged it for an accoustic. Now i wished i still had that one. :| Yet again, the acc...

Re: Can U id this guitar?

I went to do a search online and I feel like it looks an awful lot like the 1956/57 Hofner Club 50 . Except for the f-holes it sure looks like it. Now that I can see the pu's against a light background I remember them, I think you could pull those black plastic covers off. I didn't have an amp for ...
