Re: Are Real-Time Kernels Safe?
For midi you will benefit from the higher frequency timer. 1000hz vs 250hz. Afaik there is no modern MIDI software that still uses this frequency timer, most, if not all software relies on snd-hrtimer. Or are there other contexts related to audio or multimedia where you could benefit from a 1000Hz ...

Re: to help Windows users migrating to Linux
funkmuscle Good idea. I added the "Linux != Windows" article to the "GNU/LINUX@AUDIO ~ /Wiki $ Howto.Info" link collection and had already tried to show the "Differences between the individual operating systems". If another article is written I will gladly include it a...

My XFCE4 desktop is plain black. As a free musician, such a wallpaper or would probably make sense?

I also think that MB uses a more current, more stable version. Ardour will follow very soon, when it is no longer a -pre version.christobal wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 1:47 pmI'd imagine they are giving Mixbus a couple weeks head start on new features as a thank you for the support they get from them.

Re: Linux Based Midi Clip Launchers
I've compiled a version of ardour7 but the clip functionality wasn't really working and it was crashing often. I suspect that Mixbus is not a 7..pre0 https://rsrc.harrisonconsoles.com/mixbus/mixbus32c-live-manual/8/en/topic/what-s-new-in-32c-v8 , but Ardour is https://nightly.ardour.org/list.php 42.

Re: 2 interfaces, 2 jackd, couple them
The only thing that worked reliably for me was the audio adapter. All other methods (alsa_in/...) were unsuccessful. @USB The USB boot order might be rather random. I have used PCI/PCIe cards where the boot order always remains the same. Therefore it should be difficult. Since I use only one PCIe ca...

Re: Merged interfaces not merging - .asoundrc | AVLinux
With the "audioadapter" (only available in jack2) I have over years as there - see link above - trouble-free/reliable 2 RME 9632 cards and later a 9632 and an AIO, with all extensions and all I/O (audio/MIDI/digital/) wired and over the hdspmixer (you have to switch in the hdspmixer unfort...

Re: Merged interfaces not merging - .asoundrc | AVLinux
I felt the same way several years ago. Have then after years times everything written down (audioadapter) https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?p=95025#p95025 - all this should not be forgotten - because I wanted to spare other people this pain which I have gone through in the search. Surprisingl...
