Re: ACM-Series Plug-Ins Updates and Essential Linux Plug-Ins Collection Released

+1 For a revamped and renovated SR2B Reverb, I also use the old one to this day and it is a great algorithmic Reverb and has a great way of 'haloing' to the source material. I also have the newer RVB 500 and it is a convincing Plate but SR2B sounds great where RVB 500 doesn't quite get it and vice ...

I use C and C++, as god and nature intended. You really shouldn't try to write plug-ins using Bash :)

Re: ACM-Series Plug-Ins Updates and Essential Linux Plug-Ins Collection Released

I have the earlier version (SR2B) That's almost 'vintage' in it's own right by now :) I can't make any promises about a new version - I think a lot of that depends on demand. However if the GUI scaling is an issue, we do make a plate reverb emulation for Win / Mac and Linux here: https://www.overto...

Re: Ardour: How do I get started with plug ins?

There are a growing number of VST plug-ins being ported to Linux - Ardour on Linux should load VST and VST3 plug-ins if they are compiled natively for Linux, though I would recommend VST2 in preference to VST3 because Ardour's support for VST3 still has some bugs. I've made some commercially availab...

Re: Audio myths debunked and more - Podcast w Ethan Winer

why all EQ plugins are basically the same, That's a broad oversimplification. You may find that various analogue emulations have control laws / control interactions which differ from a standard 'cookbook' EQ, and you might also find that the e.g. a stock EQ built in to your DAW has a cramped filter...

Re: Looking for a teacher/trainer

...some I have found particularly helpful are YPhil's intro to Qtractor series... The audio quality has a lot of echo in that video - I can't be certain, but from the intro it looks as though he has a large diaphragm capacitor mic a long distance away, angled with the end , rather than the active s...

Tracktion / Waveform 11 and plug-in sandboxing

I've been doing some testing of Tracktion / Waveform 11 on Linux and had some unexplained issues with plug-in sandboxing enabled. This appears to affect any plugins I try (not just mine) - so far this includes the linux Uhe ports, and even 'gui-less' plugins such as the mda or even steinberg example...

Re: vst3_plugin.h

want to make vst3 plugins in a simple way? have a look here: What benefit is this? Other than the possibility of being able to build plug-ins that kind of look and behave something like a VST3, but with added possibility of some subtle breakage and perhaps some extra incompatibility issues with ran...
