Re: Midi: LMMS or Rosegarden or ...
Oh, wait a minute. I can see one drawback of Qtractor. I can not see the presets of a VST instrument the way that I do see them in LMMS. Well, guess that I have to come up w/ my own patches then... Tickles my creativity. ;) not true, again not immediately obvious: a) native VST presets you access v...

Re: Midi: LMMS or Rosegarden or ...
How do I add busses in Qtractor? In the 'Busses' dialog window (pull-down menu: "View --> Busses") there is no option to add busses. classic! 1. select an existing bus; 2. change one or its properties, obviously the name for a brand new bus; 3. et voilá , the "Create" button is ...

Re: Midi: LMMS or Rosegarden or ...
In qtractor tracks record via a bus. You'll need to add extra busses in order to get extra inputs for tracks. Add busses; use track properties to assign a bus to a track. Very different workflow from Ardour but the same results are achievable. Thank you for the help. How do I add busses in Qtractor...

Re: Linux support Behringer UMC404HD?
Thanks! I remember now that the one w/ the firmware problems in Linux is the UMC204, see this Behringer forum topicasbak wrote:My UMC404 (not the HD model) works fine in Linux. For what it's worth, I did firmware update it in Windows but cannot remember what version was flashed to it.

Re: Midi: LMMS or Rosegarden or ...
Qtractor can only record one track at the time. False! qtractor can record as many tracks, audio and/or MIDI, simultaneously, as long as there are many audio input buses/channels available. cheers That's weird. I'm not very experienced w/ DAW's but I was under the impression that, for simultaneousl...

Re: Linux support Behringer UMC404HD?
From the manual: Mac OS X operating system: No drivers needed, your U-Phoria interface operates class-compliant. So it seems to be a class compliant device and should work with Linux. Thanks. If I'm not mistaken then the UMC204 was supposed to be class complient too. Some people however have proble...

Re: Midi: LMMS or Rosegarden or ...
That makes Ardour unusable. They ask money from swodnew users for this stuff. If above mentioned bugs are in Ardour then they should be unbelievably ashamed! :( Uuuhhhmmm. Even if ardour would work perfectly, it would perhaps even still crash wouldn't it? But who bothers when using linux....

[...] So, I went with Ardour. It was actually not bad at all working with it, but it had a few problems. [...] Second, the two already mentioned bugs are quite annoying. If you put in two notes (even different notes), one starting right after the other (even using grid, to make sure there is no ove...

Re: Midi: LMMS or Rosegarden or ...
I mainly digitally record real played analogue instuments. But as i lack some additional ones that i need, those i immitate digital by sampling (wav, flac) to sound like analogue. Hope i explained it clear this way. LMMS cannot directly record from Line IN if I'm not mistaken. One can only import &...

I have the same question 'bout the Behringer 404HD. It's cheaper and also has multiple out via USB. Might that be an alternative for you?

Linux support Behringer UMC404HD?
I read in this Ardour forum topic that the big brother of the Behringer UMC 404HD, the UMC 1820, is quite well supported in Linux. I see in the picture below - that was posted there - that Jack "sees" multiple outputs from that USB audio interface that can be connected to multiple tracks i...

Re: How to anable a VSTi in QTracktor?
Thank you all for your kind replies. I've started Carla Rack but I cannot load any dll's. I had a lot of trouble to understand how it works in Ardour, what buttons to click etc. too. By the way, I see that "vsthost" is the executable of dssi. When I execute vsthost /path/to/vst.dll it work...

How to enable a VSTi in QTracktor?
I've searched the internet but as far as I can determine I've got everything properly set up for QTracktor to find my VST's. I've installed DSSI and I've pointed QTrackor to the dir where my VST .dll's are.

Bristol is brilliant: I love it very, very much. It's not a VST though. Might be more difficult to use w/ a DAW (clock/tempo wise).sysrqer wrote:edit: oh actually have a look at Bristol synth package
