Re: audio crackling in duplex mode
I thought you got it working at some point... I also thought that you don't want to suspend pulseaudio. The pasuspender prefix was a trick that some people used to resort to when pulseaudio and jack didn't get along with each other, but I assume you have an up to date system. It could be that things...

Re: audio crackling in duplex mode
however, when I quick qjackctl which also stopped jack2dbus I have no sound. I open pavucontrol and under output devices the only entry is "Dummy output", and under the input tab I have nothing. I am trying to understand all of this. I kill pulseaudio, jack is not started. pablo@Asus:~$ k...

Re: audio crackling in duplex mode
My guess wasn't right because hw:SB,0 is, effectively, an analog playback device. So it's all right :D Configuring the output of pulseaudio to the jack sink means that pulse's output audio signal can be connected to jack-audio writable clients, including the zita-j2a ports, which means the SB card i...

Re: audio crackling in duplex mode
hw:SB is equivalent to hw:SB,0 (card SB, device #0) but are you sure that hw:SB,0 is a playback device, in alsa's terms? To make sure, use this informative command: arecord -l && aplay -l zita-j2a doesn't work and I suspect it is because hw:SB,0 could be a capture only device. Does it appear...

Re: audio crackling in duplex mode
I think that it makes more sense for your use case if you use jack with the USB card (capture-only mode seems more adequate if the audio outputs are not in use) and the pulseaudio jack sink for the SB and I will try to explain the reason why. I assume that the SB live has an internal mixer which als...

Re: audio crackling in duplex mode
alsa_in/alsa_out or the zita_a2jbridge[1], which are functionally equivalent, are jack clients so you won't get sound from applications that are not jack-aware. For those, you also need either the alsa-loopback [2] or the pulseaudio jack sink. Using two devices in jack, one for capture and another o...

Re: [ANN] The QStuff* Pre-LAC2018 Release Frenzy!
make sure you check the new Graph thingy -- it's there lurking now and will supersede the other Connections thang, in a not so far future ;) Cool! I prefer the Bezier Curves and I thought I wouldn't see them anymore after reading the change-log:  ditched altogether: Display / Connections/Draw ...

Re: Linux support Behringer UMC404HD?
But despite all the adjustments done, seems that the system and the interface are not getting along too well... Most the time MixBus doesn't run at all... but even when I make it work, I can't record, play anything. Same with Ardour. You also mention installing the OS again... Are you sure that you...

Re: Jack Interface Numbering?
Does this help? https://alsa.opensrc.org/MultipleCards Sorry but I don't think the problem has anything to do with jack even if it seems so. :) EDIT. Sorry for the confusion. I just reread the article and decided to strike through the above  EDIT, again: I just deleted the bad hint . Take a lo...

Hi,
you don't mention alsamixer so I suspect the output is muted as it happened recently to another newcomer.

Re: Need some help getting my interface set up
I have another smaller two channel interface and that works the way it should...it runs under the Alsa driver in my DAW. i suppose I should try and set up JACK for that one as well because the latency will be better, is that right? If the DAW allows you to use the audio interface without jack, that...

Re: Need some help getting my interface set up
Yes, that seems to be the case but I am not sure if the source of the problem is jack connections or maybe the configuration of the internal mixer of the Ultra (alsamixer). I hope you will get it solved!

Re: Need some help getting my interface set up
Hi again, glad you're making progress! Jack is about real time audio and interconnectability between programs and the audio interface. Your DAW should provide the panning and channel configuration. For example, if you record a guitar the source is mono so connecting to a single audio port that corre...
