I think I'll buy it. I posted the same question in the 64Studio forum: http://www.64studio.com/node/523. Interesting answers there too.
Thank you for your support.

Inexpensive MIDI keyboard
I'm thinking of buying a M-audio Keyrig 49. I want to use it as a MIDI recording device in Rosegarden. If it had a MIDI OUT I would be rather sure it would work through my Audiophile 2496 but I think it's connected via a USB cable. Is anyone using one of this, or is there is something similar which ...

I just purchased a 64Studio DVD - 32 bit version. (I don't have a DVD burner on any of my machines.) I plan to try it out by triple booting XP, Ubuntu and 64Studio. Do you happen to know if the installer is smart enough to find my existing grub and create an entry for the new partition? I don't thi...

Re: Getting Audacity to play nice with other sound applicati
I have Audacity with jack support, and I didn't need to compile it. It's packaged, at least in 64Studio. My audio I/O is JACK:alsa. No problems with crashes. Only be careful your "poject rate" (bottom left corner) is the same as Jack. Also, it's weird that "Port Audio" only appea...

Yes, I was missing a virtual drive that pointed to the root directory. So right now, in my case D: is / instead of /home and I don't have Z. I don't think I need it. In Windows drives are called with letters. Normally C: is the first hard disk. D: can be a second hard disk, a partition of your first...

Solved!
Yes I know why wine couldn't find '/usr/local/lib/dssi/dssi-vst/dssi-vst-server.exe.so' Because in winecfg I had my drive D as /home. Wine was not seeing /usr. Now my drive D is /. That rises the old question again. Is it safe that wine sees your root directory? I hope so. To summarize: I have insta...

@Studio32: OK, I did know but I had forgotten :D. Thanx for the idea. I've added the wine repo to my sources.list. Just in case, I have uninstalled wine 0.60 and installed from synaptic wine 0.98 (Etch had 0.96). [Edit: numbers mixed up. I had installed wine 0.9.56. I had compiled 0.9.60 and then un...

wine and dssi-vst
Hi! Although I have installed wine from the 64studio repos, and have successfully been using some VST instruments, some others have crashed. In addition, some posts by Thorgal have convinced me that I need a newer version of wine and dssi-vst (to run Addictive Drums for example). The problem is when...

Hi Jean! I hope you have solved your module issues! I suggest you read the Free Companion by Michael McIntyre. An excellent tutorial for Rosegarden. It can help that the audio card used for the tutorial is similar to yours. Rosegarden is an audio and MIDI sequencer and score editor but it needs some...
