Re: Pipewire, should I try it ? ( tumbleweed)

Are there any applications/DAW's yet that support Pipewire? That is: not via Jack emulation?

dawhead : Thank you for clearing up that Ardour does not use Jack per default and why. Re: [Ableton Live 10]VST-Plugins not detected

If running 'carla-single win64 vst ....' it is sure that it wont run 32 bit plugin. :?: Read that post where it was said it works with carla. That was run with those arguments, so you point 'it is 32 bit' is clearly invalid. I added extra stuff to the post you replied to. It appears you're right. I...

Re: [Ableton Live 10]VST-Plugins not detected

[...] Etch is available only as one version that seems to be 32 and 64-bit compatible [...] I highly doubt that a VST can be both 32 bit AND 64 bit at the same time. The fact that this plugin works in Carla for you and that it doesn't in Ableton, which is 64 only, points towards that. If running 'c...

Re: Cakewalk v-studio 100 on linux

@othmay If you want to check if the kernel module snd-usb-audio is loaded use the command:

Code: Select all

lsmod
You also might want to install the package alsa-firmware-loaders like this:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install alsa-firmware-loaders
(or use Synaptic) And also:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install alsa-tools

Re: Cakewalk v-studio 100 on linux

thats weird it is actually commented on my alsa-base.conf, whats a good value for that, is "-1" any good. :? I think "-1" means don't use. Set your card as 0 and any other cards "1,2..." as merlyn suggested or "-2" to never use them. This may be the problem. ...

Re: Cakewalk v-studio 100 on linux

Try installing and using the same kernel as in AVL-MXE which may be Liquorix. https://liquorix.net/ You sure its the kernel that's the problem? In some of he links in this topic I read that Alsa's USB audio module is the problem. I might be wrong though. Of course I'm not sure as I don't have a v-s...

Re: Cakewalk v-studio 100 on linux

Hi, I can't say that I have made any explicit effort to support this particular device in AV Linux but an important piece of the hardware puzzle is 'firmware' and many if not most generic Linux Desktop Distros don't come with either 'alsa-tools' or 'alsa-firmware-loaders' Packages installed and AVL...
