Using GTK or Qt as a plugin GUI is really problematic.

Lower numbers mean higher priority.
Priority values are inverted: lower p->prio value means higher priority.

through the message /nsm/gui/session/root

It's all fine and I am not trying to get anyone to use this system or that.
But I want just to correct one piece of wording:
ALSA is always there. It is the driver. Pipewire does not replace ALSA. If you write JACK+ALSA you need to write Pipewire+ALSA. Otherwise it's just JACK or Pipewire.
