Re: lexicon omega
It seems that this interface won't work with 4 duplex channels (8 channels in sum).
I think you have to start jackd in capture mode -C to get 4 recording channels.

Re: G'day from the Great White North, eh?
I'm too 2k guy, I have old dual xeon workstation and delta 1010 - but now I would go rather pcie adat + behringer adda as it is more universal.
I will be no help, but web is full of stuff about quiet linux gaming computers, for instance http://www.avadirect.com.

What do you want to do? Laptop? Recording? How many lines? Only monitoring? So, that will be my first set of questions for which I'll be seeking answers: What MB/RAM/CPU/Interface should I get?

Re: hissing noise
I got no idea what's goin on! But to measure hiss on your interface you need to record silence. I think you are getting feedback from your speakers (hiss.mp3) and you get sound of holding strings down on guitar (hiss-clean.mp3). Anyway "silence" sections on both files are too much differen...

Re: Headphones with Similar Characteristics To Sony MDR-CD30
It's good to have multiple headphones when it comes to music making, let alone having cheap speakers to hear how it translates well during my mixing process. It's good to know how headphones translate. Did you actually hear Sony MDR-CD3000? Because, you know review can be very subjective. I suspect...

emu0404 pci and spdif
Hi guys,
do you know how emu0404 pci card handle spdif to analog conversion?
Linux driver is working 16bit, emu "spdif in" get 24bit stream..., does emu firmware handle it without OS?
Spdif 24bit stream will get truncated to 16bit or not?

Re: Optimizing bass guitar?
Through a phantom power box that I originally got for my condenser mic. I don't remember the brand (don't have my equipment with me right now), but I know it's the right voltage and it seems to work fine. I like more sound of 1_Selection and 2_Selection than Bass-23.1. Sound on Bass23.1 is very noi...
